Hello,

Apologies if this is not the relevant thread to ask this question.

My wife was laid off from work in 2023 and received regular EI Benefits for a few months. She also worked the rest of the months where her income went above $79000. She received T4E from service Canada where the repayment rate mentioned is 0%.

According to this https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/ei/ei-list/reports/repayment.html

it says you have to pay back 30% of lesser of one of those two condition if your net income goes above $79000 however this is also for 2024 and not 2023.

So not sure, if she needs to pay back the amount or not.

If need to pay back, we are thinking to do RRSP contribution to lower the net income so no need to pay. otherwise we don't want to contribute.
Service Canada and CRA both are telling us to contact each other as this is related to tax question and EI question. Lol
