Also depends on if you receive severance or any vacation payout. That would delay when you qualify for EI.

Hi, I want to visit my aging parent ,
I have been recently laid off.
I am planning claim by EI now , but go to see my aging mother in May for one or two months .
I would like to know if i would be elligible again on my return to Canada?

If not, to go right now and apply for when i will be back to Canada in June .
Thanks

Short answer No. See the rules about leaving for up to 7 days to visit seriously ill parent. You will be eligible in June if you meet the hours.
