I don't have time to read it now why does it says in plain terms if you don't mind

April's fools day was one month ago guys :P

Keep in mind that some people here will take that as a truth... so it's not really funny for them.

Try to refrain from speculations and follow only official and reliable sources of confirmed information.

Forget the article, it's one of the worst I've ever read. You can be against the new law but the way she put it it's ridiculous.

CIC will not give any advance notice. May be 1 week. Other points of Bill c24 already implemented without any wide notice.

People you should learn where to look for official and reliable information. There is nothing new around this Law.

If you guys are lazy to look for real and reliable information, this here would be a great venue for fake suspense creators.

I'm checking here only. I'm sure if there is any good or bad news I will find it here.
Meanwhile, like the old gangsters in Chicago in the time of al Capone used to say "no news Is good news"

You must inform CIC if you are going to be out of Canada longer than 2 weeks. So that they can try to avoid giving you a test during your absence.

What happens if I don't? I don't want to slow down the process while I am away. How do they communicate with you? If it is via email or letter, I might even come back and take the test or perhaps tell them that I will be absent when they send out the notification for the date of the test and oath. Any thoughts?

They usually communicate by the old school regular letters and very often if they want something they don't give a lot of time for response.
If you don't respond fast to their request, the chances for further delay are also very likely to happen.

Considering the fact that they have to get done some other steps which are time consuming before the actual cut off date and the continuing silence and lack of movement of this Law... June seems too soon for any realistic anticipation.

On top of that I'm checking the agenda of the parliament and they just don't work over the proposed Law for sharing of personal information. And this Proposed Law should be enforced also before the main Citizenship Act.

After couple of weeks the July applicants can start also to prepare their applications.

What proposed law are you talking about? Is there really an act to allow sharing of information required by bill C-24?

Do you have a link to the tabled act? If there's such a thing, we'll be far away from new residency requirements coming into force!
