Effect on my future after withdrawing refugee status

Hi there !

I claimed for refugee status a few months ago. I haven’t had a hearing yet. Lately, it has been becoming hard for me and my family to support my education and I may have to return to my country. I have a valid study permit till next year. I’m thinking of withdrawing my application. What are the consequences of withdrawing my application?

- Can I stay in Canada till my study permit expires ?
- If I withdraw my status, can I still have the chance in the future to apply for permanent residence?

I'd appreciate responses from refugee claimants.

- You can remain in Canada on your study permit provided you remain in school full time. If you drop out of school, your study permit will be automatically canceled after 90 days and you'll be in Canada without status.

Thanks scylla for your answer. Based on your answer that it will have no impact on a future PR application , I will proceed to withdrawing my application.

But what about the Removal Order ? Won't it come into effect as soon as I withdraw my application ? And who do I need to contact later to get my seized passport back ?
