Hi Guys,

I have a question.
My student visa for Canada was recently refused for the following reason.

You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada at the end of your Stay.

Now I want to apply for Express Entry. Will the student visa refusal have negative affect in my application??

No. You're now applying for PR. The stakes are different - now you have to almost prove the opposite, that you're going to stay and contribute!

The only reason I asked this is b/c I wrote SOP (Statement of Purpose) for my student visa where I elaborately explained how I am going to return back and now I am trying to Immigrate through express entry. I just find this wickedly ironic. Anyways, thanks for the reply. Any other comment please share..

I'm currently on study visa. There's no need to elaborate and explain yourself to the Vo. Your statement will only sound like thats your only resort to stay here thus will affect the genuinely purpose of what you're applying for.
You can try to re apply again while your School offer letter is still valid.
Good luck!

The criteria for the two visas are totally different. The result of one will not affect the other, though you will have to disclose that refusal in your application.
