Quick question for everyone, who can shed some light or thoughts.

Does having a baby, during your sponsorship application have any effect on the process of the application. Considering that the applicant is a UAE resident, but the baby was born in America and that one of the parent is a Canadian Citizen.

I am just a little concerned as, our status on ECAS changed to "In Process" on Oct 29 - we had sent the birth certificate of our child to Abu Dhabi Visa Office on Nov 19, and were really hoping to hear something back from them. Now as time goes by all hopes are being shattered.

Congrats on the new addition. I cannot say anything final regarding your case but let me share my case with you.
We also had baby during sponsorship application ad even the pregnancy and related stuff (Doctor letter, scans, preg report) was also added with my application, my med was incomplete due to deferred x-rays. We got baby in Jun and CIC asked me for X-rays, then we added our baby in our file in Nov 2013. Her med was done in Oct 2014. and immediately after her med I got PPR2 directly; whereas Processing time for my country is 33 months and my case is finalized in just 19 months. I was not asked for any remed, re PCC, additional doc; nothing at all. My case processed soo smoothly.
So I assume that baby addition is a Positive and very good sign on the whole process and CIC now cannot doubt on the nature of relationship and it is shown 100% genuine to CIC

First, congrats on the addition of a baby to your family. You would need to inform CIC of any change in relationship, including birth of a baby. It doesn't change anything on your sponsorship processing.

The only thing that does change is if one of the parent is Canadian by Descent. Only then would you need to add baby to PR application. The child would not get canadian citizenship and thus must be added to the PR application.

However, keep in mind this. Having a baby after the sponsorship application being submitted doesn't remove the conditional PR clause. It is based on the status of your situation at time of submitting application. If your marriage is less than 2 years and have no children, you would still get conditional PR.

Landed as an Immigrant and then 3 years after applied for Citizenship
Then the child is Canadian and there is zero effect on the application.

Hello Handsup - Thank you for sharing your story. We did file the pregnancy report of my wife in our initial document. Our medicals expired in Sep, and we had our child in October. I am under the impression that I can apply for my child's Canadian Citizenship, as I am a Citizen of Canada.

We are hoping that they may not ask a re-medical but yes you are right that since our medical is expired, we would prob get one.

Hello Screech339 - Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. Indeed we have sent the birth certificate to Abu Dhabi on Nov 19 to confirm with our our initial pregnancy report at the time of application.

So we are still obtaining a visa with a conditional clause. Thats good to know - thank you for clearing that out.

Thank you canuck_in_uk for your reply. We had high hopes that our application may be processed faster as our ECAS status was changed to " In Process " and we had sent them the Birth Certificate.

Some members on the forum applying to Abu Dhabi Visa Office , got a PPR in about a month after their ECAS was changed to " In Process" - was kinda betting on that - and now that we have not heard anything back, feeling kinda bummed out.

It has no impact on processing time. If it did, you'd see people have babies to jump the queue (people on this forum have actually said they were thinking of having a baby to "speed things up")

Not only "speed things up" but some probably thinks it will remove the conditional PR clause as well.

That totally makes sense keesio - babies would be raining down all over the place .
