Hello all,
Hope you all are doing well in this lockdown.

PM Trudeau announced the Canada Emergency Student Benefit today and even though the criterias haven't been published, I was wondering if claiming such financial assistances as an international student despite meeting requirements, might make me ineligible for Study-permit extension, PGWP or PR?
I also met the requirements for CERB, but didn't apply as I am not sure if that would have made be ineligible for future applications.
Thank You.

Well it's summer and not an official term for most people. International students are allowed to work 40 hours in summer anyway.
Yes, I thought so too when the news was made.

Besides, it is a big risk for international students to be working considering the current health situation but ...

Well, I live in Montréal where it's pretty hard to get a job with mediocre French. So, I don't have any hopes for getting a job this summer. Gotta work more on my French and maybe I can finally secure a part-time job.

You’re a student?
Why would your PR be at risk ? They are two totally different things
Because I will continue my studies and renew my PR only in 2021 July. I have not met residency obligation and my PR expires in Sep 20 so worried if this cesb will trigger any notification for not meeting the RO

No, it won't.
