My open work permit is approved today. But no reply for PR application. I'm longing for the process done.

Yet again got hold of the call center, this time I got the wait for 14 weeks story like Ozzy, Also nothing wrong with your application its getting processed and they managed to check on file that they received my medicals back on the 24 Feb and just haven't attached them to the process yet ............ ok then we wait ...again

I had my open work permit application rejected last week due to me not having submitted a PR application or got an AOR. As I applied for PR on Feb 19th, this doesn't make sense and we are appealing.

However, I called CIC to check there wasn't a problem with the PR application which might have resulted in the BOWP being declined. They found my application straight away. It hasn't been cancelled or anything, but they said that the medicals had not been received. We did the medicals on Feb 5th. As it was more than 3 months since the medicals were done CIC said they could ask for them to be re-sent. After some investigation it turns out that CIC actually received the medical in February, but misfiled them in the 'wrong system' and weren't able to find them. All seems to have been resolved now.

I'm hoping (optimistically) that things get moving now this is cleared up. As for the BOWP - I have no idea what is going on and have been told it will be at least 2 weeks before this is reconsidered. We are now just in Canada on visitor status and hoping for the best!

Oh jeez that sounds like something that could have happened to the rest of us. The msfileld thing. Ugh. I was starting to feel hopeful again until I saw they've been up to their cancellation tricks again. :( Still, hopefully sounds like you'll be sorted now which is good news. :)

Emma were you also wrongly filed under FSW and changed to CEC in February like a few of us? It would make sense... the medical may have been wrongly filed under FSW...

I just went through the open wp saga, applied in November, I entered under a pilot scheme and was entitled to open wp once I obtained journeyman certs, the app was approved in January, heavily restricted, it went for reconsideration, I was told 2 weeks that turned into 6!!! It was rejected and the restricted wp stood, I then sent a letter to CPC Ottawa, and also re-applied and included printed pages from CIC website regarding the pilot program, finally in March I got the open wp!! 4 months and 2 application fees later!!!

They charged you twice. Jeez. If nothing else I understand how it feels to be a minority (non citizen) who can't vote. No accountability, no compassion. I understand why it has to be like this but it's bitter to swallow nonetheless.

hey seniors i just want to how much time cic takes to reply for case specific enquiry
application submitted 20 feb

Now off the back of that wp saga, my pr app has sat dormant for 14 weeks!!! Certainly doesn't feel reassuring!

Case specific answers take 30 days ;) they work so so so hard !!!!!

Another post with getting the PPR in a month or less...

Dunno what to think.
Since they're not issuing any new ItAs, they have 'only' these few thousands of ppl. Why r most of us Feb applications stuck? What is there to check so much?

What is the difference? And especially CEC applicants, isn't it easier to check all the docs within Canada?

I'm super jelaous and pissed.

I though it would all get fast, when they stared with the first Pprs.

Agreed Colorblind it's incredibly frustrating to see so many April applicants almost at PPR while we're still languishing with 2 line ECAS readouts.
