Hi everyone

I am B.tech in IT and working as user support technician in It firm in India. I got clb 6 in ielets and wants to apply for federal trade express entry program. While going through cic I checked the minimum requirement and one is

have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one yearFootnote ** or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

Is certificate of qualification is Eca assessment of my degree? I don't have any other certification with me as I have done b tech in it.

Can anyone help how to get certificate of qualification

Br

No - an ECA is not a certificate of qualification. A certificate of qualification would be something like being certified as a master electrician or a plumber.

A support technician wouldn't be a trade job. A trade job is an electrician, a plumber etc... you are a Federal Skilled worker

You can't get a Certification of Qualification from Province unless you are physically present in Canada and Finished Specific Number of hours of full-time apprenticeship or work as training. You also need an employer who can back you up with those documents. There are two types(According to my knowledge):-

1: - You need to complete a specific number of hours on a Full-time paid job as an apprentice. The number of hours depends upon your type of NOC and Job title. If in any case, your background is in Mechanical Engineering then hours are close to 8000(Most of them). Just keep in mind that they only count 40 hours a week.
2: - You need to complete all of the above and give an exam. If you pass which is very easy to pass again, it depends on your NOC Code, and you'll get a Certificate of Qualification from your province.

How do I know this?
Ans.- I'm also trying to get one. Problem is a specific number of paid hours as a full-time job or apprentice.

Links for more info are down there:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/apply-who.asp#prov
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/working/OI_HOW_WORK_TRADES.html

The baseline is, you can't get it; you have to be in Canada and complete those requirements. I'm telling you all i know, if you find something, let me know.

Good Luck

Absolutely wrong. You can apply from abroad, and for the examination only you need to be present in Canada and in the province you are applying to.

Do you have proof to back that claim?

Anyways, I got more info for you guys. You'll find all the trades that can get you that certificate. If your trade isn't there, try calling them or try another province

Proof? Call CIC and ask them about the procedure. FST/FSW is what I do at the office day in, day out. I know you want to help others and this is an online forum, but please don't reply to messages unless you are 100% sure about the subject.

Well, let me tell you one thing, if you really did work in your office day in or day out or whatever, you should know that you go with the facts, not assumptions or word of mouth. Let me further clarify this situation here.

First, You visited this forum, went thru everything quickly and didn't bother to click on links and posted "absolutely wrong" without any written proof or any document backing your claim.
Second, I got your three links where they state very clearly about the rules. And FYI, all links are directly linked with CIC.
Third, I did call the CIC for this, and this is what they asked me to do. So, if you wanna talk about being sure, I suggest you look at your facts
Fourth, Nobody over here follows word of mouth, if you have facts, you speak. But so far, it's your word of mouth than my facts.

If it's still not clear enough, let me clarify more.

If you go back to my first comment, where did I say "you can't apply"? All I said was "You have to be physically present to get your Certificate." and if you check your own comment, you also stated that "for the examination only you need to be present in Canada and in the province you are applying to." Oh yeah, you need Canadian experience, they don't consider foreign experience. I can back this claim from this link "http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=744&top=29"

So, now, I know you want to help others, and this is an online forum, but please don't reply to messages unless you are 100% sure about the subject.

Prove me wrong. :P 8)

You're looking for pointless arguments and trolling. I'm not into that. I suggest the OP of this thread to look into the "College of trade" in the respective province to learn more about FST programs and the trades they cover, that being said your occupation does not apply to any trades I have seen in any province in Canada.

I did make you look... Nice Work "Innana"
