Hello,

I have a query regarding the question on "Relative who is a Canadian Citizen residing in Canada".

My aunt (Mother's sister) is a Canadian Citizen, however she is residing outside of Canada for the past few years. I believe it'll work in my favor if I can show that, however when I choose the option "Yes" for a relative who is Canadian Citizen; I've to then choose from the province she resides in from the drop down option.

Is anyone in a similar situation? Will it help if I write to CIC with this query? I've all the papers in place to prove the relation.

Thanks

Hi

The relative must be living in Canada for you to claim the points on your application.

Hi
My husband's sister is living in ontario.
In 67 point system it asked if you or spouse have any relative.
But here in after ITA it does'nt ask for my husband's relative.
So shall I attach his sister's documents or there is some problem?
Thanks

Though having a relative doesn't give you points under EE, there should be a placeholder for the same. You'll be prompted to upload documents there.

Purpose

To validate a claim of, and award points associated with, having a relative in Canada who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Document requirements

•This documentations is required if the applicant indicates that they, or their spouse or common-law partner, have a family member in Canada who is a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen.
•A copy of both sides of the family member's Canadian citizenship document, Canadian birth certificate and/or permanent resident card must be provided.
•Evidence that the family member currently resides in Canada must be provided through documents such as a residential lease, mortgage documents, utility bills, etc.
The documents should be current to the six months prior to submission.

•Proof of the relationship of the applicant or the spouse or common-law partner to the family member must also be provided through documents such as a birth certificate, an official document naming the applicant as a parent, a copy of the inside back cover of the relative’s passport showing the relative’s parents.

Individuals who must submit this documentation

I have an uncle and my spouse has an aunt and uncle (both are his mother's siblings) - can we include information for all 3 of them? We are planning to add all 3.. but just wanted opinions.

Whether you add 1 or 3, you'll get only 5 points for Adaptability which will count towards 67/100 cutoff required for FSWP but get you no additional CRS points under EE.

Your choice to include or not. If you do include, you'll have to submit documentation that I've referred earlier in the thread.
