Hi All,

I have below queries regarding my express entry profile creation for work related PR for Canada:

1. I have done ECA for Bachelors degree and not PG diploma part time degree - can i mention both in my EE profile? (I understand I would not get points for PG Diploma)
2. Spouse ECA not done as well - she has bachelors and CS degree full time from ICSI - can I add this in her EE profile?
3. Does any information for 5 year old kid need to be provided in EE profile?
4. I have 15 years experience and currently working as an IT Project Manager - previously have worked across multiple roles - QA, BA, Scrum Master, UAT lead; should I split NOCs across these roles in the EE profile?
5. Proof of funds for 3 family members have been rounded off to CAD 22000 (as per the portal requirement is for $20,222) would this be okay?
6. Any specific points to be taken care of before submitting the profile in the pool?

Can anyone please help?

1. Yes.
2. Yes. You may get more points with her as unaccompanying.
3. You include that you have a child.
4. You need one primary NOC showing you have one, year continuous experience. After that you can use as many NOCs as you want.
5 Yes
6 Why would you not get ECA for PG and get more points. Do you have IELTS competed?

Thank you @Naturgrl for the point by point responses.

Regd point 6 - I did an ECA with WES for my Bachelors and CA course (professional degree) that I had done along with my graduation - unfortunately they turned down the CA course as a secondary school diploma and my expectations of those 2 points were lost there. For PG Diploma I would have to do an ECA seprately with IQAS as that university is not recoginzed by WES which entails and additional cost.

Yes my IELTS was completed on 10-Jan-2022 and scores are L-8, R-9, W-7.5, S-8

What is your NOC and CRS score? You may want to do the ECA to increase your score because you need over 470 (when draws resume) for an invitation for Express Entry. Your wife not doing IELTS and ECA may give you a lower score too.

Well the primary NOC is 0213 followed by 1122, 2171 as I have performed these varied roles across my career; my CRS currently is 377 and even if I do the ECA again it would go to max 402 with spouse (individually 400 and 425 respectively in both cases). I don't see a possiblity of touching 470+ in any given case considering both of our age (35 years).

You need to investigate the PNP programs in that case.

You won't be selected through FSW / Express Entry with such a low score.

Your score is also too low for Ontario. Look at other provinces.

So your only option is Saskatchewan or Alberta. SINP has its own points system based on age, education, language etc. You can see their draws with NOCs on the website. You need over 70. As for Alberta, they don’t post their NOCs so can’t say whether you would get a nomination with your CRS score.

For IT based roles is a CIPS license mandatory for Saskatchewan? Also, my SINP points stand at 65 points currently

hi @Naturgrl

I am sorry to come to you like so, please I am faced with a challenge at the moment, please do you have any experience of something similar.

I got an NOI from a province which i accepted and applied for, however, upon following up on the status of my application, the Province communicated to me that they are unable to access my EE profile I find this strange as their NOI came through my EE Profile in the first place.

They say and I quote:

Jan 11th
"I have received all the documents. I have completed the assessment of your application however we are unable to access your profile on the IRCC portal. We have alerted the office about the error message that comes up so that it can be rectified. If you made any changes to your profile, please provide us with a new validation code. We will update you after we hear from IRCC".

Jan 18th
"We are still waiting to hear from IRCC as this is beyond our reach. If your profile is still accessible from your end, do not make any changes. If you create a new profile, your application with us will be void as a new profile means you will have a new number that does not match with what we or IRCC have on file. I will get in touch with you when IRCC responds to us".

I am tired, I have raised a webform with IRCC cos I can log into my account and everything seems fine from my end.

Really don't know what else to do from my end.

Did not check your NOC for licensing. The last time your NOC was drawn was January 2021 with a score of 77. Scores don't go below 68 except for trades.

@Naturgrl & experts - need your opinion:

I created the EE Profile with NOC 0213 & with my Low CRS of 382, I was hoping for the Alberta PNP; Unfortunately I have just noticed that 0213 is on the ineligible occupation list as most of the trends show. I have overall 15 years of IT experience into multiple roles -
1) Should I update the NOC to reflect 2173 which had been like my career from the start and transformed into project management like a few years ago?
2) But the experience letters would show Project Manager as the designation - should this become a challenge later on?

Please guide me here, I am so confused now.

Your responsibilities, not title, in your your employment letters must match the NOC. You can have multiple NOCs for different jobs.

Thank you one follow up question, is it okay in this case to show multiple NOCs in the express entry profile for the same job duration if I understand that correctly?
