I have 10 years of work experience all of which is in NOC 2171. Do I have to mentione the full 10 years of work experiences or can I just put in the last 2 years and that will fly? Reason this questions comes up is - if I just mentioned 2 years, I just need to get one letter of reference from just one employer and makes my life a lot easier. Points wise I suppose it won't matter right?

A second question if I have already submitted my EE application, can I edit the information now and resubmit it -- i.e. I have already entered the full 10 years worth of experience, can I edit the application delete all but just the last 2 years and resubmit it?

Any comments or thoughts?

Cheers!

Editing the profile is easy (I've done it once a day for a week). Just go to 'View submitted application' at bottom of page. Click 'update form'. Once changes are made click 'Continue' at the bottom. Type in your name etc and click 'submit' and then 'Transmit'. You'll get a 'Congrats...you've updated your profile thing'

I have no idea about the 10 years experience thing.

Yes, I know I can edit the application - the real question here is, can I remove the experience I have already added without it going against me. Apologies if I didn't clarify that enough.

If you haven't got an ITA yet, you can edit your EE (delete/add whatever) without problem. Deleting history may cause fewer points, however. After ITA you may have a problem and may need to submit a change in circumstance form. If you can prove the experience you have then no need to worry about that.

The issue I face is, I have 10 years work experience across 8 employers of which one was a start up and is no longer in existence. And not all the 8 companies will give me letters in the format I need. I have my joining letters and relieving letters from all companies though.

I read the points matrix and all it says is: one needs to have 3+ years work experience and a good IELTS score to get 50 points. So my plan is to just key in about 4 years worth of experience where I can obtain experience letters with a detailed job description. Does this sound like a good plan?

Cheers!

I removed my work experience taken before 2010 and my score did not change.
If we will be given only 60 days to accomplish the EE requirements, I doubt if I'll be able to secure signed COE from all of my previous employers.

I just did the same. I dropped all experience prior to 2009 and the score remained the same. Now just need to wait to get an ITA :P
