it has parameters from EE applicants irrespective of points.
Where are the points here?
CIC does not appear to process according to number of points. The number of points determines who gets an ITA, but after that it seems to be more along the lines of CEC, FSW in Canada, FSW outside Canada, and FST.

I would even guess that higher points might slow things (I wonder about this as a source of the slower movement of inland FSW) as there is added time to investigate LMIAs. But I suspect that being processed in Ottawa, where the overwhelming majority of applications go, is a big factor in speed.

Need clarification here,
here is my ecas,
We received your application for permanent residence on September 4, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on September 4, 2015.
We started processing your application on September 9, 2015

So does it mean ECAS in progress date to be noted as Sept 9 on this calculator?

No. You have just submitted your application. the 'in process' on the calculator is the status changed after application received. You should check with AOR right now. Which category do you fall under?

What are you confused about?

Your ecas will change to application received and later to 'in process' again sometime in the future as your application gets processed. Only when it changes to in process after application received can you use that date in the 'in process' drop down as the calculator is coded to calculate estimated time according to the second 'in process' status on cease. Right now you should use application submitted drop down and enter your application submitted date to calculate estimated time.

Eddie,
Very sound ideas and I agree that indeed there is more background to check for those who apply within Canada but at the same time these people need to get some preferences from CIC while they don't. So according to CIC logic best applicant is a person who has never been to Canada. I've been in Canada for 2 years already but I am not favored by CIC.
I don't think the processing time has anything to do with being favoured or not. It only reflects how many checks the officer has to do, the more, the longer it will take. They probably start processing at about the same time, but inland applications need more checks so it takes longer.
CIC already favours (some) inland applicants with the CRS points for Canadian experience.
Outland applications may have a faster processing time, but this may also put them at some greater risk of being rejected (say for example, the officer receives a document he's not familiar with and cannot verify if it's legit because it is from a foreign country, he may simply refuse the applicant.
My guess would be that inland applicants have a longer processing time but a lower rate of rejection.
I'm an inland applicant btw

I would like to meet other PR applicants. What attracts me is not the idea of free beer :) but an opportunity to complain about CIC :)
So what about Vancouver PR applicants meetup? :)

Express Entry has been out for 9 months already but there is still no detailed statistics available on it. I used data inputs from users of this forum and came up with 2 dashboards:
1. EE Processing Time Calculator.
How to use it. There are 3 parameters at the top. Pick category that you have applied under, current status of your application and date when your application moved to this status. The report will calculate how much time you have to wait before PPR. It also provides processing times distribution for other users who were with same status and how much they had to wait. There is also rejection summary in the end.
2. General statistics.
This dashboard has one parameter in the left upper corner (you can pick Category). First graph shows # Decisions per day. Note that it says Decisions and not PPR because decision can be negative (rejection) or positive (PPR). First graph (and other ones on this dashboard) include rejected cases.
Second graph Processing Time Distribution shows how Min/Avg/Max processing time has changed in the course of the year.

Here are some quick conclusions from the reports:
1. FSWP is the most popular category. However, it seemed like people who applied from outside of Canada got their cases processed faster than the people who apply from inside. So I separated FSWP applicants into FSWP Inside and FSWP Outside. Dashboard confirms that outsiders get their cases processed faster than insiders by approximately 25 days.
2. There were some lucky applicants in May and June who got their cases processed fast but in latest months July and August we see that processing time increased significantly for all categories. The reason might be that CIC is now backlogged with new EE applications and processing time might be increasing for next several months. However,
3. All of the cases are processed within advertised 180 days.
4. Chances of rejection decrease significantly once application goes ECAS In Process.
5. FST and PNP are not popular with EE. So unpopular that there is just not enough data to plot on both dashboards. So I had to remove PNP and FST from the reports. It actually would be nice if someone went through the forum threads and gathered more data for processing times. I've already spent around 20 hours on developing the dashboards and collecting data and I am already sick from scanning dozens of pages on the forum and reading other people profiles. More about how you can help to improve these reports below.

About the dataset itself.

I took March and April applicants spreadsheets from the forum and combined them together. Also I went through Rejections thread to collect more info on cases that were rejected.
The final spreadsheet has around 150 rows (cases) and contains only applicants who a) received PPR; b) were rejected.
People who have not received decision on their case are not included in the dataset.

How can you help to improve the dashboards?

1. Play with the reports and tell me what else would you like to see. What kind of reports is community looking for? I will develop them.
2. The main problem with the dataset is that there is not enough data. It would be nice if someone could go through May, June, July ... threads and collect data there. Here is the Excel file that is used as a source for the reports. Go download it, fill more data in, and send me. I will add new rows into the report.
This is excellent!! Thank you for your time and effort! Plus 100 :)

Dont think FSW inland applicants everr get "Application Received Status", mine has been IN Process since i submitted
Why? I have applied 2 times already under EE and both times had status "Application Received" at the start.

Hi Guys,

I know this has been discussed before so sorry for being repetitive here. But my ECAS shows below 3 lines.

We received your application for permanent residence on August 21, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on August 21, 2015.
We started processing your application on August 25, 2015.

Now, I understand that the status has to change from in process to Application received and then again to in process. However i have not been tracking my ECAS regularly, so I am not sure if the current in process is the 2nd in process or the initial one.

Also, my CIC page has Medical passed and BG Not yet started.

Where is this application? Details
Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents No additional documents are needed at this time
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed Not Started
A final decision has been reached Not Started

Can one of you please help me understand at what stage my application is?

Should I take a break for a month or two and come back to check if anything has happened or is it going fast. Any comment will be helpful :) :)
