Based on what is written on CIC website, you would not need another PCC......... Read the highlighted rows (text is copied and pasted from CIC website)......

Police certificates
Purpose
To determine if the applicant or their family members have a criminal record or poses a security risk to Canada

Document requirements
According to the requirements below, the system will automatically generate upload fields for the police certificates required. However, it is always at an officer’s discretion to request a new or additional police certificate from the applicant.

  • For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR.
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country.
  • Police certificates are required up front and are mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has spent six months or more in a rowwithin the last 10 years since the age of 18. This instruction is for the purpose of the completeness check under section R10. Some countries require that the applicant complete a consent form to initiate a police certificate. Refer to the country-specific police certificate page.
  • Police certificates need to be a scan of the original police certificate(s) in color. Certified true copies and unauthorized copies are unacceptable and will result in the application being rejected as incomplete
Ahh, amazing. I was concerned for a moment there. Thank you!

You know what, I don't know if this was updated recently but the text is definitely different to what it used to be. In that case I would have to agree with you and say only one PCC would be required.
1 PCC for my scenario or 1 PCC for the example I provided?

If it is for my scenario, I am still thinking to go ahead with your original recommendation of uploading the PCC of the country that I currently reside, in the designated placeholder and my home country's PCC in the LOE placeholder. Reason being:

1) I have already paid good money for it
2) CIC may ask for it later, so why not provide it upfront.
3) Most importantly, the designated PCC placeholder says "Police certificate (required)". I understand there is a wealth of information on this forum, but how am I as a candidate supposed to know which country's PCC the system is referring to?

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Gents.. I have clearly stated my travel history in the PR application and I should get a police certificate from one country as per the new regulations which mentions Six Months in a Row and not in Total. However, upon moving to the upload portal the system generated fields for the PCC based on 6 months in total.. Any ideas how to resolve this..
