Hi Guys,

I got the ITA and am preparing for submitting materials for EE FSW. Need your help since I am a bit confused now.

1) I have got ECA for my PhD and do I still need to get ECAs for my master's and bachelor's?

2) I took the medical examination when I applied for work permit this June, and I am planning to submit in this November, which means that the ME will still be valid within 1 year. So can I use the ME report for WP for my PR application? Will there be any other concerns?

3) Still about the medical exam. If I need to do it again, I will do it in Canada. My family members are still in my home country, and do they do it there and just upload the scanned receipts?

4) When I fill out the online forms, it requires me to provide information about secondary school. Do I need to provide graduate certificates for my junior and senior high schools? I cannot find them.

5) Do I need to provide police certificate for the country that I visited frequently in the past 6 years? I spend 1 month there every year because I have family member there. But the duration is 1 month * 6 and not 6 consecutive months.

6) I am under FSW, and the application is based on my 1-year foreign work experience. The 1 year is without no gap but in 2 companies (August-June in company A, July onwards in company B). The two positions were under the same NOC code, but are different from the NOC for my current job in Canada. However, all positions belong to type A. I got the ITA based on this experience, but I am still a bit concerned. Is there any chance that I will be rejected because the experience is not in one company although it is continuous?

7) Finally, one of my former employers insist that they cannot describe my job duties in the reference letter because the company's own template do not provide such information. Will that be a problem? Or do I ask them to write a note on the letter saying that they are not allowed to do so according to the company's policy?

Thank you very much for your help!

Thank you for your answer. However, I also have difficulty in getting the separate letter from my supervisor because he has already left the company. Is there any other alternative?

1) You don't have to get ECA for your other degrees. the ECA for PhD will suffice
2) I think you might have to do another medicals for EE. I am not sure though
3) Yes, they can do it in your home country
4) Not necessary
5) If you did not spend up to 6 months at one visit, you do not need to provide PCC
6) Nope
7) You need to get details of your job duties. It is compulsory. You can get the note from them that they do not provide. In addition, try to get your former colleague or Manager to draft your duties.

1) The ECA for PhD should be Ok but since it doesn't cost you anything more to assess Masters and Bachelors why don't you do it? (I presume it's the nuisance of getting transcripts?)
4) You're talking about the EE profile? If so you'd need to provide secondary school details only if it's your highest education. Your PhD should go here however I'm not sure what should you do about your Masters and Bachelores, because you didn't get do ECA for them and it'll ask you for ECA reference number for these.
5) Nope
6) No as long as you're able to provide job reference letters in the format CIC requires for these 2 jobs.
7) Get them to say they can't provide duties as per their policy, it should be a strong point for you. Then get an ex-colleague/ supervisor to write a notarised affidavit explaining any missing info like the job duties.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply! Is there any other alternative available since I cannot find my supervisor because he has left the company long time ago.

Thank you. If I cannot find my ex-supervisor can I write an explanation letter myself with the duties? I could find the advertisement for the position from the company, and it has position in it.

No you cannot write the description yourself, writing in a first person is a not a good idea I think.
If you have the advert, can the company stamp it and acknowledge that they have advertised the position?

Also if they have an internal advert with the duties and responsibilities , it should have company logo, just do everything you can to get your duties except write it yourself.

Get an ex-colleague. Do attach anything else you can find to make you case stronger. Just do not self-declare your responsibilities, it'll get you automatically declined.
