Job Offer........

Hello guys,
I want to ask you about one situation I am going to picture ...

I am in the pool, cause I was eligible to send application for EE (67+ out of 100) .. But I have around 380 points and this is definitely not enough to get ITA (lowest score I found was 430 in the whole list of history I saw)

Will I be able to get a job if I am in the pool? OWP (Open work permit) or something similar? Or what should I do now? Can I even look for job with some real chances to land one since I am in Toronto?

Is it wise to ask for WHV (Working Holiday Visa) to make it easier land a job and after I get one (can I? Is it even possible with WHV?) I will update my EE profile (=> +600points) ...

Is this scenario real? Is it recommended ? Or What are my chances?

Thank you guys

You won't get 600 points with a WHV. The best thing to do now is get more work experiece, retake language tests or go back to uni. You can try to get a sponsored lmia job for an extra +50 points, and it's possible after getting aWHV an employer may like you enough to put in the paperwork.

thank you for reply ...

I have 6+yrs of experience in Skilled area (DataWarehouse, Databases, ...) and retake a language test won't earn me enough points, even if I will make it for 9 in all areas (W,R,L,S) ... I have Bachelor's degree ... but no Canadian experience ..

I am just curious what is the profile for those with score over 450??

So you mean, when I will get a job offer (skilled; full time) on WHV and than apply for PR (through EE) ... it won't count me the points for valid job ??

Is there even any chance to get job offer without ITA? My question is: "what can I do to get a job?" What can I tell the employer if he ask me whether I am eligible to work in Canada ??

Sorry guys for these "stupid" questions :( It's just not clear to me ... thank you a lot ... appreciate it, really

P.

I'm confused as to how you only have 380 points if you have 3+ years of experience, clb 9+ and a degree. Have you have your degree converted? How old are you? What is your noc code?

A valid job offer is either an lmia or a CLOSED WORK PERNIT, where you have already worked for the Canadian employer for one year. A closed permit is a work permit with that employers name on it. A WHV is an open permit.

Right now you could get a WHV, go to Canada, get a skilled job and near the end of your work ask your employer to apply for an lmia meaning you would get +50 points.

Just reread that you don't have clb 9+ in all. That will boost your score massively.

If you are having 430 in your mind to reach, then, fyi, the score has never came below 450.

hello guys, thank you for your replies .... i really appreciate it ...

when i use this: cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

and fill it with following info:

  • going with common-low
  • 29yrs old
  • no canadian job experience nor study (both)
  • bachelor's degree (both)
  • 9+ CLB for both (which is practicaly unreal; especially for my gf) - in fact I am CLB 7 and she is CLB 5
  • work experience 6+

I got arround 440 points .. and I simply can't go heigher ... without Canadian experience or Job Offer, it seems to me almost unreal to reach the break point :)

My NOC is: 2172 (A) -> Database analysts and data administrators

I just wonder what I can do more to increase my chances get a job / ITA / ... while waiting for ITA in a pool ...

Andy108: I've heard about PNP but I am a bit confused .. Can I ask for PNP even without valid working visa? Can you provide me more information (url, ...) ? Is this my only chance how to get enough points?

kryt0n: thx, WHV is my last chance, but I would rather go the "official" way :) I don't think I am such a looser to not be eligible for EE :D maybe I am just missing something

again - thank you guys

one more question: once I am in the pool waiting for ITA (that will never come, obviously - thanks to low score) ... Does it make sense to look for a job and attend job interviews? Is there even any chance that employer would like to go through the LMIA just for someone he doesn't know?

There's definitely a chance, but you will have to be a VERY good canditate.

However as an lmia only gets you 50 points, you will only go to 430 (if you have 380 now). Although there's whispers the scores will drop that low in 2017, it's not confirmed. So it would be best to try to get higher in IELTS as this would be the best way. If you had 440 points you stand a realistic chance in 2017.

Technically there is no set time however there are cases of people having their PR revoked as they did not move to their PNP. I would suggest that if you don't want to really stay in Ontario that you apply to a lot of jobs and keep proof, so that if you are ever investigated you can prove you legitimately tried to settle there.
