Hello Everyone,

I might be repeating the topic but unfortunately I couldn't find one existing to post in that.

I would like to know if we have to declare all our job stints even if they are not related to the job field we're applying for?

In my case, I'm applying for "Aerospace Engineer" position. I have a total of 11 years experience and out of that 4 years I spent in Business development field and the rest in Aerospace Engineering. After graduation, first 4 years as Aerospace Engineer, next 4 years in Business development & management and the latest 3 years in Aerospace Engineering.

If I'm right, my stint of 4 years in business development & management doesn't get accounted for the experience, correct? If so, Am I obliged to declare that experience or can I not declare that at all? The reason for asking is, if I were to declare that experience, then I would need procure/present the related work documents such reference letters to CIC.

I'd really appreciate if someone could help clarifying this for me.

Thank you
Shivaprasad. K

what exactly is your question? where and what are you applying for? are you trying to get a LMIA?
are you trying to get into the EE pool?

if its on the EE pool. provide work experiences that corresponds with the right NOC.
and work experiences wherein you can show proof such as detailed employment certificates.

Assuming that you posted on the EE forum, I would think you have either received ITA and prepping up application documents or may be trying to create an EE profile. Whatever is the situation, my suggestion is that you must disclose your entire work history as-is. anything other than that would call for misrepresentation of fact. I had different occupations several years back and have declared them all. Till now my experience is that CIC is not unreasonable if we can explain our case within the ambit of their regulations. Good Luck !

Thanks for the response.

Let me be more clear - I'm preparing to put in the application for EE. I need to procure reference letters from all my previous employers, correct?

Now, here is where I'm having trouble. I've worked for 3 companies so far - I'm able to get the reference letter from my first company & my latest company. But the company that I worked for in between (4 years of business development & management experience) has closed down and I'm not able to track down anyone to get a reference letter. So, with that said, how should I proceed now?

Please provide some clarification.

Thank you!

Well 2 things here, one you can claim whatever experience you want to show in single relevant NOC and rest you can add in your employment history which u will get after ita. In that way thr is no misrepresentation.

Just to be clear , what you claim as experience for CIC to consider and your overall 10 yrs work history can be different.

So we do not have to list all work experience in EE? Just what we want them to consider to make us suitable for Canadian life?
