Hi

I have a year of Canadian experience in NOC 1123 but my CRS score is showing up as 0 for Canadian Work Experience. Can anyone give me some insight into this, please ?

I'm thinking I went wrong somewhere but I've updated my profile twice now and I can't see where I should make the change.

Thanks
David

Hello,
After updating your profile did you sign at the end and submit the changes? Have you received an email saying your profile has been updated?

Hi. Thanks for you're reply. I signed and submitted the changes. I didn't receive an email to say my profile has been updated. I have received and email saying that I am in the EE pool.

Initially, I did not list my current Canadian job in my Work History section, but after I went back and updated the application to show I have been working there a year and it is my current job. However, the CRS score did not change after I transmitted the update.

I could not see anywhere else on the application where I could detail how many years I have been working for this Canadian company. Am I missing something ?

Edit: I should note the I started the job with the canadian company in February of last year (In case that makes a difference)

Have you done your job bank registration? I'm sorry I can't remember which step comes after which (in case you had to do that before you receive the Express entry welcome message).. But usually once you signed and submitted your changes it would update within 24 hours and you usually receive an email saying your profile has been updated.

Yep I've done all that. The job bank registration comes before the welcome message. I find it strange that it did not ask me how many years I have been working for the Canadian company. I was only asked for a start date.

It's frustrating because I really need those additional points to get through.

Did you answer "Yes" to the question about being authorized to work, and "no" to the question about being on a study permit?

Well, apparently a few things dont seem to squre on this work experience issues. Like Jes mentioned, if you are a student and you worked, it does not count as work according to CIC. Even if the work is not a co-op or summer work or whatever. As long as you did the job while on a study permit, CIC will not award points to you for that work.

So, did you work after graduating? Did you answer "No" to that question about work permit? Has it been more than 24hrs? THose are about the major things. If not, then it sounds strange and you may need to contact CIC.
