EE - Calculating Work experience problem

Hi Guys,

Please help me here;

I joined one company on Dec 1,2012(joined) after doing BTech(bachelors in Computer Science) from a reputed university as an Associate Software Engineer and after a year got promoted to Software Engineer(March, 2014). So till today I am having 36 month experience till today.

Query is:
Whether they are going to consider only Skilled experience as Software Engineer(March 2014 to till today).

ii. How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation.

It all depends on your job duties and not on your position title.

What rafzy means is that your job title(s) don't matter so much while choosing the NOC for your jobs. What matters is matching the duties and responsibilities of your job(s) to the closest NOC. You can do this by going here and checking the details of the various NOCs that seem like a match - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

As to your question, for CRS purposes, entire 3 years of experience will count, so long as they fall within NOC 0, A, and B types. But to get into the EE pool (i.e., before you get your CRS scores), you have to meet certain "minimum eligibility requirements", one of which is that you must have at least 1 year of fulltime and continuous work experience in NOC category 0, A or B jobs (see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp). In your case, you clearly meet this requirement (whether as an Associate Software Engineer or as a Software Engineer). You are good as far as work experience goes. Best wishes to you.

I have around 10 years work experience out of which last 5.5 years has been in 1 particular NOC. Prior to this i was in maybe 2 other types of NOC's. I have a question if you could help -

Do I need to enter all 10 years work experience in EE profile? //I am worried that will be very difficult for me to arrange ref. letters from earlier years plus am not sue if I am going to gain anything as far as points are concerned//

Personally I would be very inclined towards just adding past 5.5 years (incl. current job) with NOC in my EE profile and submit.

Any feedback here would be very helpful.

You're not required to enter all your work experience in your EE profile. I suggest you stick with just the ones you can validate through LORs and such. If your 5.5 years is in NOC 0, A or B, then I say just stick with that. You only get credit for 3 years of full-time experience anyway so no need to go above and beyond. However, you will need to disclose all other work experiences during your PR application, which you can do in your "Personal History" section (in your eAPR, mind you) rather than on "Work History" section if you want to avoid having to submit LORs etc for those jobs. Meanwhile, you're good to go with just that 1 work experience. Hope this helps.
