Hi all, I would like to ask a couple of questions.

Age: 29 (single)
Edu: PhD student (in 5th year) / Masters and BA from the US
Experience: 1 year-full time and 3 year part-time

1) I am about to finish my PhD in a couple of months. Should I wait until I am done to apply for EE?

2) Which test is required? IELTS or CLB?

3) Any advice you could give me to make a successful application.

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Hi Dan, thank you so much for your reply. My degrees are recognized in Canada. I am leaning towards waiting until next year to apply to EE. I can work for one year in the US after my PhD. I still need to sit for IELTS this summer. My estimated CSR is 425-480 depending on my score.

Do I need to get ECA/NOC to make EE application?

Is it easier to get ITA if I can get a job offer from a Canadian firm first?

Thanks again!

Yes. the exact CRS will depend on my IELTS score. I need to aim for a high score.

Do I need to get ECA/NOC in order to make EE application?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I'm also completing my PhD in a couple of months.

I have UK degrees and I was worried that my masters would not be equivalent as its usually 1 year masters in the UK as opposed to 2years in Canada/USA.

I did the ECA and it was equivalent to a Canadian masters.

I did IELTS and scored pretty high making my EE score 456.

Ild carry on to prepare to go into the EE pool, you can update your profile when you get another qualification

It also depends on how soon you want to come to Canada.

Best of luck!
