I have a CRS score of 454 and I used to think I would definitely get an ITA after a wait of maybe a month. However, given the shocking decline in the number of ITAs sent in the March 9 round (and an increase in CRS to 470+) I thought it makes sense to make a thread for us folks who are now suddenly in the 'dead zone'

1. What do you think is the best course of action for people in the CRS 450-470 range?
a. Go for OINP (if they are giving those out anymore) or other provincial nomination
b. Wait for the CRS to fall
c. Try to improve our CRS (through IELTS improvement, etc)

I have a CRS of 469. Will go down by 5 points on March 29. I am positive that we can wait for ITA and not to jump into PNPs.

I think you have a good chance given you are in the 460+ range but for people like me, I'm not sure. I have roughly a year before I lose 5 more points due to age so I think I'll wait 6 months and see if I get an ITA. Otherwise I'll have to look into spending a whole lot of $$$ on OINP

Agree. I hope you get ITA sooner than later. :)

I am at 450... do I have any chance this year of gettting an ITA?

I think you should look into provincial nomination. The CRS cut off has not gone below 453 in a long time and now it seems they will reduce the number of ITAs sent each round so I predict the CRS cutoff will stay above 453 for some time. But i don't know how long or exactly what the cutoff will be

just one round of less number of invitations and u all go crazy. may be they had a reason this time. actually more invitations are expected this year than the last year, though total intake is reduced. last year they gave an average of 36000 ( 24x1500) in all. this year they are 51000. there might be some back log left but still nothing less than 36000 will be issued. all the best

Hi guys. 467 here and waiting since last 3 draws. I had this score since December but was being too over-confident and wanted to open my profile only in summers as I wanted to land next year. But now it seems I am not a chooser any more.

the thumb rule for such stuff (immigration) where rules / process are not that transparent and also rules change on a very short notice...is to do your best and use all the tools that are plausible to use to improve your chances. So if you can give IELTS and improve your score and have a change at Provincial nomination or similar....dont wait, go for it.

In larger picture (if you are really keen moving to Canada), another set of dollars for IELTS or whatever improves your score is a point object and worth giving it a shot. Instead of living with a guilt statement - " if at that point in time i had done this or that, may be the outcome would have been different".

at 463, PGWP expiring in the middle of May.
feels like hell to just wait for the scores to come down...
but what else can I do than staying positive as I am not eligible for OINP and LMIA

At 463 you are eligible for OINP. Lately, there has been a temporary hiatus in OINP sending out invites, but most likely you would get an OINP invite before May.

Hi All,

I was at 423 and last month after the draw with 453 cutoff my ECA was revised and im at 455 points now. But after that draw next draw they reduced the invitations and the point is not coming down from 470. But i had already applied to OINP and got AOR from them yesterday. Even i will be loosing 5 points for age next month. So i dont think i will get direct ITA, so waiting for the nomination to come....

Oh ok, got it. But 463 is a good score. You should probably get an invite in the next few rounds of invitation. All the best!

yup, I am at 458 in the middle of the dead zone.
I have already maxed out my IELTS/work exp/education etc so no scope there.
I will wait for OINP I guess... :)
