Educational and Financial background of the spouse

Hi guys. I want some clarity in a matter. If someone wants to sponsor his wife from Pakistan, does her educational and financial background have any impact on speeding up the process? Considering she has had good education and work experience and can show a decent financial status too?

Unfortunately, education, financial status, etc have absolutely no impact on the process. The process will proceed according to the pace of that particular visa office. They only take into consideration whether the relationship is genuine, whether the person being sponsored has been convicted of a crime etc and as for the speed of the visa office, it's one of the great mysteries of the world.

Lol, I can see how horribly long it gets for some people. Even skilled workers immigration etc gets prolonged too. So overwhelming to start these processes!

It is a mystery all right. And also, no where did a inhuman act of this nature have gone unpunished but in the case of CIC's sponsorship process, it is a normal act.

It won't speed up the process, o0fficially. However, write a plan stating what the two of you hope for your lives once she is in Canada. Detail where you plan to live, your job and what job she hopes to get, any plans for kids, etc. Include any proof of this you have, such as her education, job history, and finances. For example, you could talk about how the two of you are planning to buy a house, and that she has saved up $xxxxx for this. Planning for a future together is evidence that the relationship is genuine. If you have enough evidence of this, and the visa officer believes your relationship is bona fide, then she might not need an interview, which will definitely speed up processing.

Thanks a lot for your advice Canadian woman. I was just thinking on lines that she would be eligible for skilled workers visa etc so maybe that will help in speeding up the process but I guess that isn't going to happen. From what I've heard the processes are taking 2-3 years now. Pretty cruel this is in my opinion. Wasting three years of your life just waiting for your spouse, not starting a family etc. Like life doesn't have issues already lol!
