education question

On IMM 008 schedule 1 under Education there are 3 categories :
primary secondary and post secondary
In India it is primary, middle and hr. sec
so do I put 8 years for primary? 4 years for 10+2 as secondary and college etc in post secondary?
If my secondary education is 5 years that is taking till 7 class as primary and 8 class to 12 class as secondary, do I put details of 8 class onwards as secondary education including schools etc.

Primary: 5 years
Secondary: 7 years (combine secondary and higher secondary-grade 6 to 12)
College: 3 years or 4 years depending on your major/degree
Post secondary: 2 year for most of the masters degrees and 4-6 years for most of the PhDs

In the US and Canada, normal length of a college degree is 16 years (5+7+4).

So, as per the details above:

Elementary/Primary School : 5 Years
Secondary/High School : 7 Years

What is I appeared for an improvement examination for my Secondary Course. I had passed my Secondary examination in 1st attempt but the marks scored for 2 of the subjects where low so I applied to take those exams to improve the scores, for which i did not attend any institution but did self study to write the exam a year later with the juniour batch. During this time I was not allowed to take any course in any educational institute or the new scores would be inapplicable.

Will this make my Secondary/High School duration as 8 years? or that 8th year will be considered a gap year?

Now my query is what do we write under Type Of Certificate or Diploma issued in :-

1. Elementary School
2. Secondary High School


And what about Field of study .....
