Education gap and backlogs

I have 3 years of education gap and completed BE in Electronics and communication engineering with 8 backlogs
I heard that from all consultants that i can not get student visa because of this
Is that true?
Should I apply for canada or is it waste of money?

if academic is not strong then focus on making other things strong... IELTS, finance, SOP, etc
