Hi,

If I am not claiming any points for my wife, do I still have to send any sort of education certificates of hers to CHC. In Her personal history sections I have mentioned about her education in some personal history section of the application . She has only finished her advanced level.

Hi ruka,
If you look into Visa Office specific instruction guide (Colombo) (checklist), you will see the following section under "6"
EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you, your spouse or common-law partner and your dependent children over age 22:• Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
• College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;
• Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in universitysealed envelopes.
• Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)
____________________________________________________________________________________-
Therefore, yes, please do submit educational certificates for your spouse

Hi,
I just thought that it would be of very importance for you to know that when you gather your supporting documents, please stick to visa office specific documents requirments checklist. These requirments vary depending on different CHCs and therefore, getting specific information relevant to your application is the key here. I was once in a big mess just getting irrelevant information on supporting documents. Thanks to Leon who put me back into correct track. If you any questions, please email CHC in CMB. they are fast in responding.

Hope this is of any help to you.

Re: Education certificates of spouse

just a small confusion

as ICE CUBE mentioned

Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas

in India we have education system like that

10th Secondary

12th Senior Secondary

then graduation after 15 year completion

so according to this I have to submit education certificate for 12th and graduation
for me and my wife not for 10th right ?

According to his first comment, he is not claiming for any points for his spouse's education. Education upto High school or secondary, which is up to A/L is not given any points. You can claim points for spouse's education if her's education falls under this:
A one-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship, or university degree and at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 3 points
•A diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship, or university degree of two years or more and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 4 points
•A Master’s degree or PhD and at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 5 points
Good luck

Please consult seniors. I am not familiar with Education system in India

Hi ICE_CUBE thanks for the response.

You mean I need to attach O/L , A/L certificates of my wife ?

1) Would notarized copies suffice ?

2) B.t.w. We don't have these certificates issued by the department of examinations, but those issued from school. Are these OK ?

3) Do I need to attach my O/L , A/L ones too

4) In case of my degree certificate (not the transcript), should I attach the original one or a notarized photocopy ?

thanks in advance

dear, if u've mentioned in ur initial application that u r claiming points for your spouse education than u'll b awarded points for her education doesnt matter wether she is accompanying u or not,,,,
even if havn't claimed her education points than also u need to submit her educational documents but they will not award any points themself....

Hi,
I am not sure about that Sir. I do not see why you can't get any points for that. However, what doubts in your case is that she is not immigrating with you, and when settling in Canada, you and your spouse's ability to adopt to canadian (economically) life (when considering her qualifications) is higher than by yourself. This might be a concern when they give you points for your spouse's education under adoptability.Once you settle down in Canada and sponsering her in the future may be a different concern.
Please consult seniors on this.
Good luck anyway
