Since you already have a bachelor's degree, your PG diploma should be treated as a second bachelor's degree and will give you advantage. However the only way to be sure is to apply to WES. Someone known was in a similar position and tried clarifying this over mail to WES but they gave a standard reply saying they'll only be able to say for sure depending on the when you submit the application.

you need to have a 2 years post grad degree from university recognised by WES or other institutes which assesses foreign education

Need not be a 2 year course. A 1 year postgraduate degree/diploma/certificate along with an ECA (if acquired outside Canada) would suffice.

thank you guys for replying,
just one more clarification needed.

does correspondence 1 year Post grad diploma be recognized by WES as post grad ? i mean will i still get points for 2nd degree in CRS.

THANK YOU

The only way of knowing for certain is by applying to WES.

I am in the same boat! Been trying to get an answer but just able to. If you do manage to find out please let me know :-)

There are people who got their 1 year PG diploma recognized as a required diploma... it depends where its from and the subject etc.. nad some have also had their assessments changed after challenging the WES evaluations, so anything is possible..
You best bet would be to send all your educational documents to WES, as you need to do that anyway... you can always update it and reassess if you need another diploma later.... but for now this is your only option..
Goodluck

Before sending your documents to WES just check on their online free assessment tools, if not checked already, whether they assess your credential and whether your institute or university is showing in their list.

EFK: thanks for your response. I already got my BE degree evaluated and now wondering whether to get this done. But as you rightly pointed out, its worth doing it anyway.

Sita: Unfortunately, there is no diploma evaluation on their tool. However, I do believe they do the assessment.

So I did my diploma and then BE from Mumbai university. After entering both in WES, and CIC , i got points only for BE. and not 2 course.
After researching a lot on it, I think i know why.

to get those extra point the diploma or the 2nd degree should be higher than or done after BE. In other words. the degree should be one that will give me credits, if i was to go for MS/ MBA.

not sure if this make sense. :)

Yes. My query was around a Post graduate diploma from Symbiosis University. Its a weekend course while I was working.

Hi all
