Hi everyone ;D
I'm looking into rented accommodation in/around Edmonton, Alberta and would like your opinions on a few areas.
What are St Albert, Stony Plain and Fort Seskatchewan like for families?
What are the roads into Edmonton city centre like?
What are the elementary schools like?

Also is there anywhere else you would reccomend?
We're looking for 3 beds with a finished basement or 4 beds. It must have at least a single garage but double would be preferred. We don't want a main floor, we want a full house. House or duplex is preferred but don't really want to spend more than $2000

Thanks for you advice in advance ;)

I don't live in Edmonton yet but my wife's familiy is from here and we have visited many times. St. Albert is often more pricy but a very nice area. Stony Plain is 30-35 minutes from the city by car I would look at Spruce Grove instead. Fort Seskatchewan is pretty far from the city aswell.

The roads all all good in the summer, but like anywhere else in this part of Canada the conditions can change alot during winter, sometimes fine and sometimes horrible.

Thank you. I don't mind a half hour commute to the city as long as the roads are main highways and the area is nice.

Can't speak for other areas but we live West End, Lewis Estates.

I have found it to be a decent area, families, parks, nice houses. Easy travel to West Ed Mall, other shopping and entertainment / recreation.

Close to Whitemud Drive, Henday, 100 Ave, Yellowhead, all of which can get you to pretty much anywhere you need to be. Probably 30 ish minutes to downtown, although my commute takes me to the South East of the city.

Only thing is, where we are is mostly new housing so doesn't have that older more established feel to the area
