Weather is now good, no snow, roads are good, are you coming as resident or Studies ?
yes sure you need a house nearby University otherwise it will be difficult for you to move around. There are pretty houses available on rent, 1 bed room are cheap.
I came 10 months ago too as resident and struggling in my field of Occupational Health and Safety, Oil prices put Alberta down so less jobs in my field, I may move soon to BC.
Any other help you need let me know...

Hi all,
Me,my wife & my school going daughter are planning to immigrate to Calgary in Sept/Oct 2017 and are waiting for our Visa/ COPR under Express entry FSW. I am an MBA and a Sales & Operations professional with around 20 years experience in Sales & Operations mostly in the telecom sector. My wife is a College lecturer (Ph.D) in CAD-fashion designing with approx 15 years experience. We have relatives in Calgary as well as Toronto.
I want your advise on the the job outlook for us in our respective fields of employment and if needed, what more professional skills we might need to acquire.

Edmonton is comparatively better then Calgary in current scenario of Oil Price crisis. But Sales and distribution opportunities are in every cities bigger like, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal may offer more but proportionate to population competition must be higher. So better to make your mind and land there were you will find family support. My opinion!!!!!

Hello friends,
I am a registered nurse and midwife from Nigeria (3 years diploma in nursing and 18 months midwifery program).
Received visas and COPR two months ago and am planning to start my NNAS application soon.
My family and i are planning to migrate to Canada early next year and live in Alberta.my questions-

I plan to apply for LPN and RN in Alberta,is this ok and what are my chances as a nurse/midwife with 5 years of experience that lasted up to July last year?
Will NNAS process my application without IELTS?if yes at what stage will CARNA request for IELTS?
To be honest with you all i can say is that we will be landing in Edmonton Alberta, i am really confused as to what province to choose for my application, please can you advice as to any province that processes application fast and does not give much trouble?

Your advise and experiences will be appreciated.
phone number- +26653792661
Thanks.

Hi Yes it will be good! less commute more time to relax!!!!!!!!

I think you have to do some upgradations especially in Nursing they do not automitacally recognise degrees even from Europe, many of BSN and Master in Nursing from reputed institutions Whose institutions has collaberations and also partnered with University of Alberta Nusing school are struggling getting job in Nursing. Try to do IELTS from your back home with at leat 7 or above which can gurantee admission for upgradation. otherwise doing IELTS in Canada is a bit difficult as compared to non English speaking countries I think. Those who has Nursing experience please share your thoughts!!!!!!!!
