Hi there! I got the email today that I've been approved to be my husband's sponser :D
He's from Ecuador, and thus officially has two last names. In the email I received, it has his last names switched around. Has this happened to any one else? And, if so, has it proved to be a problem?
His papers will be processed in Bogota, so the people there should know how it works with last names in latino cultures....

Maybe just send them an email clariffying his name for their system... It would suck if they issued a visa for him and his name was wrong. Sending an email is always good and save it so you know that your butt is covered.

Better save than sorry, send that email... But I don't think it will be a problem as far as they have both last names...

For my work, I have experience with documents (passports and visas and immigration), and there's no issue if the last names are reversed.

Hello, this happened with my wife, the same thing as yours. Do not do anything, because for you to be able to change her name, you will have her to sign the representative form and then send it to you...I did all that because I thought it was important. Another sponsor, the same thing happened again with his wife in Colombia and the Embassy in Bogota fixed this. So, do not do anything, it won't change anything and they know how to handle names in Bogota. If I would have known that in Bogota the officer would correct it, I wouldn't have done with all the procedure that can add some delays.

Suerte!
