Some applicants who received their eCoPRs in late October are still waiting for theirs! Expect delays. Could be a week or could be more than 3 months at this point!

Yep, the word from ATIP gurus is that IRCC exceeded their levels plans for 2024 (hence the pause on eCoPRs/RFV/PPRs) and also they are going to count some applications processed in 2024 towards the 2025 levels plans. So, they will/can hold on to issuing eCoPRs for a lot of folks.

I completed Portal 2 for my PR application on December 12 and am currently awaiting my eCOPR. I have travel plans scheduled for the last week of February and need guidance on the following:

1. Once I receive my eCOPR, can I travel immediately, or is my physical presence required for PR card issuance?

2. If travel is permitted, can my PR card be mailed from Canada to India, or is this strictly prohibited? Additionally, can I request someone to send it to me via a reliable courier service?

3. If mailing is not advisable, would applying for a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) be a better option for re-entry?

4. I plan to stay in India for about a month, and I am concerned that PRTD processing times might be too long. What would be the best approach in this situation?FYI, I don't have valid TRV to be used for travel at the moment.

I would appreciate your guidance on the most suitable way to handle this.

1. You can travel after getting eCoPR, you don't need to be here for your PR card.
2. You can, but documents have a record of getting lost. People still do it.
3. Check PRTD timelines for India. If you are comfortable after reviewing data from PRTD threads from India, it's cool!
4. PRTD or entry via a land border on a private vehicle are the only two options for you to come back. Once you are a PR, you can't have a TRV(as it is contradictory to have a temporary visa when you are a permanent resident) - any existing TRVs will get cancelled.

The thing to think through is:
1. Can you wait for a month after eCoPR to get your PR card and then travel? But wait, PR cards can take longer too. So, how do you fix it?
2. PRTD can take 1-3 months in India. If you can stay longer, stay longer.
3. Wouldn't it be better to get your PR card and then go? Simpler choice for everyone. Visiting India during summer isn't fun (I know!), but that could be the best option for you here.

That text reads like garbage from me. Sorry for writing is so fast.

But, do you have a valid US visa? If so, you can come back via the US land border too - you won't need a PR card for it.
Nops I don't have it unfortunately my tickets are all booked as is completely non refundable which is making me so sad. I took a highly wrong decision of booking tickets.

Thanks I checked the tracker you provided the link for and it shows eligibility not started for my spouse. what does that indicate and how will it impact processing of my ecopr?
