Hello everyone,
I recently received my Immigrant Visa and COPR and plan to officially land in Canada in March 2025. However, my spouse and sons are already in Canada, and they’ve also received their Portal 1 invitation letters and replied to IRCC with the required information.
I’m wondering if they can get their e-COPRs before my landing date, or if they need to wait until I complete the landing process in March 2025 for their e-COPRs to be issued.
I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thank you in advance, and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Primary applicant needs to land first. If that wasn’t the case the primary applicant wouldn’t have to land and you could grant your dependents PR without having to come to Canada yourself although they would not have qualified on their own. PA is also typically the primary income earner so wouldn’t make sense for Canada to allow dependents to come to Canada while the primary income earner doesn’t have to.

Thank you for the reply. My sons have been studying in Canada (Study permit) for 3 years, and my spouse is currently on vacation there so if IRCC allows them to apply for the virtual landing, it would be very convenient, however, in this case, we now know that I (PA) must complete the physical landing before any of my dependents can obtain the e-COPR, I shall arrange my owned schedule to do it soon. Once thank you and Merry Christmas.

Who is the primary applicant? If the primary applicant is inland, I won't suggest you to land with your CoPR. Because if you do, your passport and CoPR will be seized and you will be without status in Canada(with no SIN & likely no healthcare access).

If you are primary, you can land before they get their eCoPR.

"if they can get" is out of your control. If primary is inland, you'll have to wait till they get their eCoPR.
