has anyone else had the problem of not being able to log onto ecas for either part of the application?? i recieved a letter abot a month ago saying ive been approved to sponsor my husband but still havnt been able to log onto ecas or use the automatic phone service to view the status of the application. i kno im typing in evything correctly and have tried evey combo of client id, reciept number last names etc..

Phone CIC on 1-888-242-2100, press 120, and it will connect you to a calls´ agent. They will guide you thru how to check it. It the phone says your call cannot be transferred to an agent, just keep calling, and you will get thru.

sometimes immigration take a while to update information on ecas.i don't see why you can't get access to the sponsorship approval part at least.based on my experience;if your spouse is outside of canada,you won't be able to access ecas until the visa post abroad have received your file and started the processing.that can take anywhere from -4-6 depending on where your application is of course,this has been my experience.once your file is open you should be able to open ecas.or as the other poster suggested you can call them and ask.

Once approved to sponsor, you should be able to access e-CAS using the sponsor's details (not the applicant). It usually takes longer for the applicant's e-CAS to start working, but that doesn't matter because typically everything on the applicant's e-CAS is also available on the sponsors.

There's a couple of other tricks - the most common one that catches people out is country of birth. If you're born in the UK, try England (or Scotland, etc). I've also known Czechoslovakia / Czech Republic catch someone out.

If nothing works, you can put whatever you have into the tracker and get emailed when it starts working.

thanks everyone for replying, ive been approved as a sponsor on augest 30th and i still cant access it. i have been typing in my (sponsor) information and stil nothing. ive used the tracker also so that makes me think its something to do with the visa office. ill try calling them today

I have a question... I know it might sound stupid but I am going to ask it anyways. My ecas has not changed since June 11th when they started reprocessing us again from winning an appeal. My husband sent in all the redos they have had it for 2 month and the medical has been done and they have had it for 1 month now. My nusbands passport was requested and it arrived in Delhi today. So I am wondering why our ecas is not updated since there is obvioulsy being processed. I am just kind of curious if security checks are still going on or what is happening why its not updated for such a long time

Hi guys I have also the same case up to now I cant access my ecas it's been 6 months since my application forwarded to buffalo check encashed september 10, 2010 and got my immigration file # but still no AOR/MR receive from Buffalo, I've tried many time to access my Ecas but it doesnt work..... huhuhu

Hi, matthew put this on so your e-cas will update you automatically. Works very well, usally within 6 hours or so and saves you logging on every day or week
