Hi,
Visa office:London
CSQ holder

Question 1: Does your ECAS satus gets update once they received your medical results?

I had the medicals 3 weeks ago and my Ecas only say IN PROCESS

Question 2: Do you always receive a receipt for the Residence fee payment? if yes, how long after you submitted?

As always, many thanks to all for your answers!

Ans 1 : Not always, sometimes it is added with "decision made "

An2 : Yes, within 15-20 days. Sometimes people have received receipt with stamped passports also.

Ans 1: Normally once your results are received, there is no immediate update on the Ecas, because invariably CIC conducts the background test simultaneously, so once the background check is done you will see the Ecas update as "Medicals Results Received", once you see this update then you should receive your PPR in a few days time.

Ans 2: I am not sure about this.

hi, guys so you trying to say once they receive medicals then they start background check? why is that and what is the background checks? if someone fail in background checks then what happen?? please explain thanks. gusy.

They don't disclose how those background checks are done.

But, unless you did something eyebrow rising (the person who wrote your reference letter has no idea that he did that, being caught on youtube burning Canadian flag or shouting "Death to America!" etc.) you have nothing to worry about.

Nope, Background checks are started much before CIC receives your medicals, its only after they finish the background that your E-Cas is updated with Medicals received, till then it will be In-Process. Background checks are done to see that one is not involved in any bad activities, the length of the time frame to complete depends on the number of countries you have lived for more than 6 months from the time you are 18 yrs of age. The lesser the countries you have stayed, the faster the clearance comes through, it also depends on the agency/government that CIC has requested the data from the faster they get the response the faster your file moves.

Hope this clarifies.

Dear Max_lee,

your info is interesting esp about back ground chks i have done my meds on 3rd march 10 but till date in process in ecas. i have visited three countries dubai, south africa and bangkok all stamped on my latest passport these were all one week trips can you pl tell me how soon i can get my pp stamped and returned to me. as i understand from your feedback the back ground chks about employment are already done before medicals pl clarify.....

one-week trips, most probably, are not a problem.
did you try to order CAIPS records?

Dear max_lee,
Have I understood right, as soon as they do background check, and if it is ok they send medical? and do you know it means background check is OVER in case of sending medical request? and if medical is considered ok then they send the rest? (Payment for PR Card, POF, and passport request?)

Thanks a lot in advance,
Nari

Hi, I think background check is not always completed before medicals.
I lived in different countries, and there's no chance my background was checked in the 2 weeks that took from submitting my documents to the visa office to the time they ask for medicals...

As I have mentioned earlier in the post, Background check starts way before medical request is sent, so the process of Background check is no way related to sending medical request. But even after the results of medicals are sent by the DMP and eventually received by CIC the status in E-cas however does not change to "Medicals Results Received" till the background check is complete and is "In Process" although CIC would have received your medical results. However when you see the status change to "Med......... Received" you can be sure to receive PPR in a couple of days.
