Ecas "started processing" and "in process". What's the difference?

Mine show, "In Process" and on clicking on it, it further shows "Started
processing since January 2008.
I am Dec. 2007 applicant....no doc. update yet, but address disappeared
last month and reappear this month with same story.
Any idea what is happening?

Thank you so much Wilson for your reply! My Buffalo spousal application has been showing "started processing" since early August with no "in process" showing. Just wondering if "in process" will have to show before PPR as some applicants of same timelines are getting PPR?wilson said:, Practically both are same. Started processing should be with a suffix of date.
In process will not show any date. However, your application is under their review as the immigration section is working on it.
I had the impression that "in process" is the final stage of "started processing"? Anyone please?

family class, it is the old system simplified.
I just hope my party will be starting soon as you said..
So I should continue to wait?..I am use to their waiting formulae

We have received your application and will review it in order of receipt. We will send you an acknowledgement letter (maybe - me myself did not receive an acknowledgement but I was able log in to my ecas pretty quick because I already have a client ID number before I submit my application).

We are reviewing your application to make sure it is complete and that no documents are missing. We will return incomplete applications for resubmission.
Medical Results Received by CIC
We have received your medical results. We will contact you only if additional tests are needed.
