hi just want to ask if ecas already change to "decision made" but havent landed yet can i still get marry and change my marital status so that my spouse can be screened my files updated and he can acconpamy me in landing?? hope u all can help me..

Yes - you can still get married since you haven't landed yet. However you won't be able to use the visa that they have approved for you as a single individual. Instead, you must notify the CIC that your status has changed and submit all of the paperwork (forms, medical, police certificate) for your spouse, wait for his application to be processed and approved - and then wait for CIC to re-issue the visa.
But if you have been living together for over a year, it's the best thing to do... Failing to declare a common law spouse before you land will make you ineligible to sponsor him in the future, even if you marry...

no we are not qualified as common law partner/spouse coz wer not living together we live in diff countries so we cant say we are common law..dats y our only option is to get married. i didnt know my application will run this fast (4mons medical already) so we decided to get married so that he can still be screened and come with me..thankschelley said:But if you have been living together for over a year, it's the best thing to do... guys by the way is it possible to inform embassy or CIC of the impending marriage although it hasnt happen yet..coz im just worried dat theyll request me to send them already the passport for the stamping.and then they wrote there that if they didnt received in 30 days theyll closed already ur case..?!scylla said:Yes - you can still get married since you haven't landed yet. you could, not sure if they'd take that into account in their processing or if it would be business as usual until you actually do get married... (technically nothing about your status has changed until you get married)...
you are free to submit passport and collect visa if requested, as long as you do not land with that visa as it is issued with your status as "single", and the visa doesn't expire, you should be okay to still change the application and add a spouse... you'd just relinquish the visa with your husband's application when you have that prepared, they will cancel your visa and and re-issue when the spousal application is completed...
the key is to not land, that's when the process becomes finite... until the day you land (or the day the visa expires), you do have the right to make changes (and the visa office has the right to process those changes according to the rules for they apply)...
should be an interesting case to process as it sounds like it might involve two different visa offices, may want to inquire to CIC around the logistics of the applicaiton and if there is anything special you should be doing.... it could add a layer of complexity to the mix...
