ECA through WES for Mumbai University - Engineering Stream

Hi all,

I completed my Engineering from a college affiliated to Mumbai University, and now I'm applying for ECA through WES. I need some guidance.

I'm currently working in Canada on PGWP and I have all the original marksheets/degree certificate (big one) with me. I can mail it to my parents in Mumbai and they can take care of it.

Few questions that I am looking for answers.

1. Does attestation on marksheet photocopies come from College registrar in a sealed envelope or from University registrar in a sealed envelope?

2. If University, Whether to go to Kalina or Churchgate to get marksheets attested?

3. Can university attest all semesters marksheets. (Semester 3, 4, 5, 6 were held by college and the marksheets were issued by college with college name on it.)

4. Would university send the sealed envelope directly to WES, or somebody needs to pick it up and send it to WES?

5. Do I need transcript from College before taking the marksheets photocopy (2 set) and originals (for verification) to University?

6. How much time does it take normally for college/university to attest and reply?

=> Kalina

=> No, only University Exam Semesters ( 1,2,7,8) and the convocation certificate.

Hi followed all instruction, I went to churchgate instead of kalina. But they rejected my application saying its college issued marksheet. As in mumbai university 2nd and 3rd year for BE its usually college issued. How to deal with that ?

1. University wont attest your college mark-sheets ( sem 3,4,5,6). You need to get those notarized from local advocate.
2. Get remaining mark-sheets & convocation certificate attested by University in sealed envelope.

Send 1 + 2 to WES along with cover letter.

My husband is facing a similar issue as ei8hteen & PK_11. Kalina office has taken Rs. 6000(1275 per attestation sheet!) for the attestation of the 4 mark sheets & the degree certificate. But they refused to attest the remaining 4 mark sheets & have also refused to sign the WES reference form!

1. Did you face a similar issue when you applied in Kalina? How were you able to ask the officials to sign the WES Form?
2. For the remaining mark sheets, you have mentioned that notarizing the same from a local advocate is adequate. Were these notarized mark sheets accepted by WES?

Your college marksheets are attested by the college itself. There is no concept of notarizing your documents.

Hi,

What is the reason for rejection from Churchgate office?
Please note that Churchgate is the right place to got for attestation and sign on WES form. Only if your marksheets are more than 10 years old, you have to go to Kalina first and then to churchgate.

I have done attestation from Churchgate office and sign on WES form without any issues. (and yes positive acceptance from WES too).

Try to check in details why your application is being rejected?
There is no point in going to Kalina as they will only attest 2nd year and last year marksheets (as they are university issued).

So, I would advice please try to reason out on rejection? Is your college not recognize under Mumbai University?

Can you please let me know whether you were able to get your marksheets attested at Kalina? I am in the same situation as your husband (as I passed out from Mumbai University in 2001) and am confused whether I should visit Churchgate or Kailna.

I am currently in Hyderabad and would need to visit Mumbai specially for getting these documents. Would appreciate your inputs on this.

Not necessary. If your marksheets are 10 years or old, then you need a bonafide certificate issued by the college. You present this bonafide certificate at Mumbai University Churchgate and the clerk will take it forward
