ECA of Sikkim Manipal University Degree.

guys, just now i have submitted my BCA degree from SMUDE for assessment . i have two questions, kindly help me out

1. i also need to submit the photocopies of my degree and mark sheets along with document submission form to ICAS, Ontario, canada via mail( not email)??

2. what should i write on first 1- 10 blank places given in document submission form, which shows exactly as follows:- ??


I have contacted the awarding body and have submitted the Official Records Request Forms to have documents sent directly to ICAS:

1. Yes , you need to send the photocopies of the documents that your University will send originals of.
2. Write the name of all the documents as mentioned in them that you are sending and the ones that your University is sending

I am completely aware that ICAS can only be the one who can assess my qualification and also they have made it clear that Distance education programs recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC) or UGC at the time of your admission can only be assessed. At my time of admission SMU was battling for UGC recognition and got its recognition in 2015 and my degree certificate states UGC registered. BUT, neither Distance Education Bureau (DEB) nor UGC in their recognition list states any evidence of any recognition for this period (2013-2016). I was able to find only one article by hindustan times stating that govt. protects students who were admitted to the distance education programmes from February 22, 2013, to June 26, 2015 (https://www.hindustantimes.com/education/sikkim-hc-order-brings-cheer-to-students/story-qiUQN29nDuNuijLawDm8YI.html) there is no official record for this statement from any authorized authorities.

Me being a person who works as an migration assessment officer for 6 years, I am aware that case officers do not take alot of efforts to evaluate a qualification that comes with such an ambiguous background. If there is anyone who have a similar case and got it through, please share your thoughts and if anyone have any additional information for students admitted during the time 2013-2016 will be extremely helpful.

Today on 17th Feb 2016, I have got my ECA report from ICAS Canada for my MBA from sikkim manipa university. It has taken them six months to render this report. Important shareable experiences and information is:

1. I had email exchanges with ICAS before sending papers where i was told - " Thank you for your enquiry. For postsecondary study completed in India, we will accept only the following:Degrees awarded by institutions which were recognized by the UGC at the time of admission, Programs recognized by the AICTE at the time of admission, Qualifications awarded by State Boards of Technical Education. It is your responsibility to determine whether your qualifications fulfill our requirements. If they do, then we can assess them. We strongly suggest that you submit all postsecondary qualifications for assessment, not just your highest qualification, to help us prepare the most meaningful report for your purposes." I had done some research on the recognition of SIKKIM MANIPAL and found out that on june 2012, high court has stated in a decision that "distance education from sikkim maipal should be regarded as recognized. My admission was after this order date in fact was in June 2012 itself.

2. I only sent my masters degree papers. paid the fee for ECA, got the request letter, sent the request letter to university for transcripts to be directly sent to ICAS along with the letter, got all my mark sheets and degree certificate copies attested by a notary (even empty back sides of papers written as "empty") and sent them to ICAS.

3. I kept regular conversation with ICAS via email while waiting, I was told that my papers were received in completeness on 4th august 2015 so that is treated as my start date for waiting of 25weeks. The report was finally received by me (email not hard copy as yet) on 17th Feb 2016.

4. My timeline at ICAS login: *note that 4th august does not reflect in my timeline.

I have done bscit in 2011 and mca in 2013 from sikkim manipal uni distance education. Plz suggest me how can i evaluate my degree .which org i choose and is that possible for positive response? Plz also tell me i will need to evaluate both degrees or one only mca

Could someone please explain to me what's the meaning of Comparable level in Canada: Master's Degree(Taught) in the report.
