ECA - My husband main applicant and myself. Shall we pay twice?

Hello Guy,

Please please I really need your help in this.
I just started preparing some papers for the Express Entry program and my husband will send his credentials to WES for assessment. I will be sending mine too but I am afraid that we will have to pay twice for both. Otherwise, we send them in one sealed envelope, accompanied with a letter that he is the main applicant and we both need our credentials to be assessed.

Please guys help me with this in order to proceed.

You can't. Each individual's institution should send it directly to WES.

Ok but can we put the same reference number? All I have to create my own account even though my husband is the main applicant?

Because I read somewhere that it is optional to send the spouse's credentials and you don't have to pay for both.

what's confusing?

two credentials for two individuals. two payments. it's that simple

what they meant by optional is that you can opt not to have yours (secondary) assessed if you have enough points.

WES is an independent body so they don't care if your are the principal or what not.

You both have your credentials assessed, and you both pay. Then you each create a separate EE account, naming yourself as principal applicant and the other as spouse. Then you wait and see who gets an ITA first, or, if you get them at the same time, which one you want to accept (for instance, if one gets an FSW ITA and the other a CEC, you decide which to accept). Then you cancel the other ITA and you are on your way.

But you both need IELTS scores, and you both need ECA to do that.

Create two Separate Accounts in WES and each one would get a separate Reference Number and use that Specific Reference Number to sent the details to WES
