ECA - How to do it your self not from an agent ?

Dear friends

i consulted an agency and they said that i should get my eca done for FSWP .As when it opens in 2014 april. But when i said that it is mentioned in the official web site that it will open in 2015 they said but in case if it opens in 2014 you should be ready with your eca and ielts . for that to do ECA they are charging Rs 40000 .

Guys i just want to get my ECA done if in case FSWP opens in 2014 . how can i get it done my self . and what is the cost involved in it . Please do guide me in this situation .

DON'T pay the agents !!! they are asking a lot of money for something you can easily do yourself. Firstly, currently running FSWP is CLOSING in April 2014. Next FSWP is likely in January 2015 but it will be tougher. So, if you can, aim to apply this time only.

Next, ECA can be done with World Education Services, Toronto, CAnada. www.wes.org/ca Visit their website and you will get all the info.

1. Get your transcripts from your university. They should be signed by Controller of Exams at University, not someone from college (if your college was not autonomous). They MUSt be sealed officially by the university.
2. Register on www.wes.org/ca, fill in your details and pay the fees. The fee for ECA service is CAD 180 (approx. Rs. 10,000) plus 13% tax. If you want ECA report by courier, thats another CAD 100. Max it is Rs. 18,000-19,000/-
3. Courier your transcripts and other reqd docs to WES, Toronto. I used FedEx, they charged me Rs. 2800/- and delivered the docs in 2 days.

So, no need to go through agent. there is nothing great they will do which you can't. Save your money...

Do we need to send our original documents to WES or ICAS for assessment? And the documents includes all our transcripts? If so, normally how long they take to return the originals? As I will be travelling toother countries in near future..thanks in advance

You don't send your original degree certificate to WES/ICAS as it would not be returned; send a clear and legible photocopy instead.

You transcript must be sent to them directly by your college/school/institution as it makes your application faster. If it's not possible, you can still obtain from school and send yourself as "sealed" without opening it.

Once WES received all documents with payment, you report would be ready in 7days.
