Hi all,

I have done a 2 years Masters degree from USA just after a 4 years Bachelors Degree(B.Engg) from University of Mumbai. I would like to do the ECA for my masters degree only to get the points for highest degree. Since I am in US and the process to get Bachelors marksheets attested from University of Mumbai is cumbersome.

How advisable is it to do ECA for only masters(highest degree achieved) but in the education history I'll mention both my Bachelors and Masters.

Thanks

If you are mentioning it and claiming points for it, you have to do ECA for it. You are exempted from ECA if you have Canadian education.

You can do that, if you are confident that your Masters will most likely be assessed as 'Masters', else you should also get Bachelors assessed to take advantage of higher points for "Two of more degrees..." by claiming points for bachelors as well.

You can send your masters degrees for ECA. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Institutions in India take time to give documents according to ECA requirements so might as well begin that process. In case your ECA organisation comes back to you saying that they need bachelors documents before they can assess masters, you would have to provide them anyway later on.

you are required to do eca for highesr education you are claiming the points,in this case yes you can only get your master degree from usa done for eca, sice that will give you the morepoints in education than your bachelors

Hi,

What if I have 2 bachelors? 1 from Canada (which doesn't need any assessment) and another one from South Korea (which needs an assessment). Both of them are equally highest. What should I do? should I verify the Korean degree?

Its perfectly fine, in fact CIC clearly states that you need to get highest degree evaluated , unless you feel that you can get separate points fro bachelors, which clearly is not the case for you. I did my US masters evaluation and now that I have ETA and I received India undergrads transcripts, I will get bachelors evaluated as well (though not necessary). My understanding, not legal advice.

Hi Prakash,

I have completed my Masters from USA as well and I was wondering which way is the best to send documents to WES? Either ask the University themselves to mail the transcripts to WES address or have the University send them to me in a sealed envelope and I can send them across to WES.

Suggestions please.

According to me, requesting the University to sent out the transcripts to WES-Canada directly would be a safer bet. Solely my opinion though. Good luck.

Either way works fine.

If the university does send the transcripts themselves then you must use that option, in that case WES does not allow you to send transcripts, they will only accept from university.

Thats not correct. Plz check the WES rules.

I hope you realise that I have done it and got my PR too. And many in this forum as well.

Have they changed the rules over the last few months? Hundreds of people in this forum including me have sent sealed transcripts from our end and it works. I have done it for WES as well as IQAS and they both accept the candidate sending the sealed transcripts. They have the right to reject if they feel it's tampered of course.

My information of course is about 4 months old.

What does it mean? Getting PR makes whatever you say correct by default? you become the biggest expert in the world by getting the PR? many misinformed people got PR. I got my PR but I do not think or claim that gives me the right to say that I have perfect knowledge on everything and am open to new inputs, similarly plz keep your mind open to inputs/new information from to other. What you said is incorrect, and I know what is said is correct and I do not want to waste time arguing on this. I recommend you talk to WES who will clarify your misunderstanding. And no, this is not a new rule, it was the same rule 4-5-6 months back as well. Thanks.

You clearly sound like an angry frustrated person. Anyway, there are enough threads on this forum that clearly validate my point. Yes, you shouldn't be arguing with me or anyone else. No good ever came out of being angry and negative. Peace.
