ECA FOR FSWP for Professional credentials

All,

I am currently applying for FSWP. I need help how I could assess my ACCA qualification. I have sent an application to ICAS but I was told

"As indicated in our Terms and Conditions, ICAS Assessment Reports include formal academic education completed at appropriately recognized institutions. Our reports do not include in-service professional development, work experience or professional examinations (such as those in accounting). As a result, your LCCI and ACCA examinations would not appear in the assessment report. In addition, ICAS cannot assess the bachelor’s degree awarded by Oxford Brookes University because it is awarded almost solely on the basis of ACCA examinations."

I am aware of the MRA between CGA and ACCA and applying for this at the moment (It might take 3 months).

1)Which Designated organizations for Educational Credential Assessments will assess professional credential (ACCA) -I dont have any university Degree (My BSc is based on ACCA)- CES FAQ #18-CES does not assess professional certifications or licenses. (I am waiting for WES's reply)
2) If I have received CGA certificate through MRA- Do I need to submit any ECA for my secondary school since I dont have anything else to assess
3)If you are only submitting a Canadian educational credential, you do not need to do this. (Extract from CIC website) -CGA considered Canadian educational credential? Can I just submit CGA certificate for proof of Education?

Do they consider it was a equivalent 4 year canadian undergraduate degree?

Take your OBU to WES,you would get better ECA result.

With WES,your OBU degree is equivalent to a Canadian 4 year degree.

I have sent all the certificates (Foundation, Certificate & Affiliate level plus Membership & Fellow member certificate) and transcript for ACCA. I have written to ACCA to send the transcript & the Equivalence letter.

Hi All,

I am an ACCA affiliate since 2006 and have been working since then. If I become an ACCA member now I will get 21 points i.e equivalent to 3 years Canadian Bachelors degree.

My Question is that if my membership is from 2014 then will my experience of last 7 years be considered valid while calculating my points under Experience factor???????

Hi,

I have sent photocopies to WES. There is no need to get a certified copies since WES will receive original confirmation from ACCA and OBU.

I have sent both ACCA & OBU to WES since there is no reply. WES has accepted both the credential and received the transcript from ACCA and OBU yesterday and started the document reviews.

Finally someone who has discussed ACCA. I am an ACCA affiliate and I didn't apply for the OBU. I however sent over my ACCA affiliate forms to WES. WES has received and accepted them, however they are still awaiting confirmation from ACCA which an ACCA official informed me has been posted on 13.8.2014. I will let you guys know the update then.

ACCA normally send the documents by standard mail without tracking. It might take up to 10 working days for WES to get this and 2 to 3 workings days for WES to review and update the application. I have also requested for the equivalence letter (ACCA equal to Master Degree). WES has received all my documents and started the process. I will keep you posted.

I had requested the equivalence letter as well. And i sent it along the courier along with my Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business. However, WES still requires forms and transcripts sent out from ACCA.

And it reached WES on time ? Can you give me an approximation about how much time it actually took ACCA to post the letters from UK and arrive in Canada ?

I have scanned the request form and emailed it to ACCA. They have sent the documents within 4 working days via standard mail. I think it took around 10 working days to reach WES.
