ECA by WES

Hi

I am planning to apply for FSW 2014. As a part of process, I need to submit ECA report. When I was surfing through WES website, I found following in document requirement. -

You may have photocopies of your original mark sheets attested and dated by the Controller of Examinations or Registrar’s Office. Please request for the attested photocopies to be placed in an official sealed envelope and have the envelope returned to you to forward to WES.

NOTE: Mark sheets attested by persons outside the Controller of Examination or Registrar's Offices, such as individual professors or external notary publics, will NOT be accepted.

Do I need to send my marksheet attested by above mentioned method or just photo copies will do? Does anybody has done ECA, please suggest.

Yes, you need to get the photocopies of marksheets attested by CoE/Registrar of your university, they are to be placed in an envelope and stamped with university seal. (one envelope for one institution attended).


Place these envelopes in one big envelope and ship to WES.

what is easier method, shall I go to undersity and get them attested or i fill trascript request form and make university send my docs. Which method is fast?

What if you have your original academic transcripts ?
I have my original academic transcripts at home, along with a certified copy of my degree, as my university gave me two printed transcripts of my marks when I graduated, so I have a spare that I'd be fine to part with.
Can I just send the original transcripts go WES without involving my university?
I can send them along with a certified photocopy of my degree...

Has anyone done that ?

My degree is BE.

I have below:-

1) Photocopy (unattested) of Final degree certificate.

2) All 4 year marksheets of my engineering years attested by university's Controller of exams and then placed only the marksheet and WES transcript request form in uni envelope and sealed. I am not adding Degree certificate in the envelope. Its in package but not in the uni envelope.

3) Nothing is written on envelope. (address or anything)

Confused related to below documents:-

1) My degree is in Hindi. Need translations also? If yes what should be the format and if they require photocopies or original of translations
2) In Forum, something was mentioned about the cover letter having 'Reference Number'. What is that?
3) Form filled through WES Site?

Kindly Help.

Hi Tulip9, here are the answers to your queries.


1) Yes, if it is completely in Hindi, then you need to get it translated from an authorized person and get it notarized. But I believe, in India, the Mark Sheets and Final Degree certificates will be in both the languages. I mean the translations are already in place. If yours is not then you need to get them translated.
2) A WES Reference number is the one you get after successful payment. You need to write this on the envelope and also on a white sheet along with other documents you will be sending to WES.
3) You need to select the FSWP program in WES site. Go to wes.org/ca and click on FSWP on the home page and create an account. It will ask for all the other details.

Hi,
I'm planning to apply for Canada Immigration this year.My designation is Software Engineer and my education qualification is M.Sc Computer Science.
I want to apply on my own without approaching any consultancy .I have gone through the CIC website and below is my understanding on how to file ECA.
1.From WES ,apply for ECA .Once the payment is made,a confirmation email is sent to us and we need to then send the Clear, legible photocopies of all final or provisional degree certificates issued by the institutions attended.
2.Request for all mark sheets(transcripts) for graduation and post graduation to be sent directly to WES by the institution responsible for conducting the examinations.
Download the Academic Records Request Form from WES site and this is to be filled by the university and sent to WES along with the transcripts.

And also from WES site i see that the fee for
WES ICAP -Document-by-Document Evaluation $145
WES basic -Document-by-Document Evaluation $100

Please let me know which one to opt WES ICAP or WES Basic.
Please correct me in the above steps mentioned to file for ECA if i'm wrong.Also let me know the complete fee to be paid for ECA.

I also have another Question, all my universities here in USA sent my transcripts directly to them but I am not being able to do the same for my school leaving certificate (SLC) and Higher Secondary School( +2 also known as HSEB ) from Nepal since I am here in USA. Is there any other way for me to get this done?
