I am also from Pakistan.

But keeoing all other things on one side, tell me do you feel safe while going around with your family in particular night times. well i dont and this is what really concerns me. If we are socially not secured what is the point of earning rs 100,000 or even one million. If i have offer of even million dollar salary in unsafe place, i will be a big fool to accept that.

It not about the country where we stay, it is about how we stay, whether we are secured socially and economically.

I have not heard of any social insecurity in cananda.

I hope you will think in this way as well.

Dear dbag

kahan the ab tak bhai.... sahi bole..... I fully agree with you... hats of ..... Welcome to the same frequency 8) 8)

Cheers, Anil
Thx. a lot, Anil bhai, where are u located? I am currently working in Gujarat.
I was just expressing my inner feelings here, I also wanted to add a bit more that here in India; we would pay almost double price for any car, say Honda Accord, Toyota Camry (almost $45-50k etc.) as compared to Canada ($20-25k there, I believe). This is simply because of the duty structure and that the Govt. here considers any car to be a luxury item. If we add the cost of fuel, which is almost 25-30% more here, the usage of most cars on a daily basis becomes q. difficult here.
Also it is not just vehicles, but in last few yrs., galloping inflation has increased the price many times of almost every item, I am sure you would agree with me on this fact.

On the positive side, the family ties & friends circle that we have here is certainly a big assistance in solving/offsetting most problems that we face here.

@ihabkal,
Friend, You appear to be having many of the same problems that we are facing in India here and my sympathies are with you, I really hope that you get your visa soon. As others have pointed out, it is not really about jobs or money but to improve quality of life that ppl. take the arduous steps of immigrating to another country, even though initially the going might be q. difficult and uneconomical. However, we all do have the option of coming back, if nothing positive works out in the near to mid term...

@information789456,
I hope that many of ur doubts have been cleared, btw, u have still not informed whether u are earning PKR 1 lac p.m. or not? Also where u referring to pre-school instead of per-school which is also called Day-care or elementary school?

The guy just wants people's opinion. this a forum and here people come and ask questions related to immigration. All i am saying is lets be fair to him. he doesnt want his life plans from us he is saying that if we were in such a position why would we immigrate and everyone has reasons and he wants to hear those reasons. you know they say that there is no stupid question!!

@ Anil, there is no frustration as regards the question. It is just a case of not showing ability to prioritize from the questioner. You know the benefits of immigrating to Canada and so do others, why can he not do some research 1st before asking for peoples opinion. Does he think that most people that wants to immigrate don't have good jobs where they are?EVERYONE IS DOING THIS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE KIDS and to live in an accommodating society!!

So the way i would answer your question is that compare what you can get for 100,000 in pakistan and $1500-$1800 which you said is minimum would get you in Canada and move on from there. Plus just a few things to mention from your list below. God forbid if you have a medical emergency, how soon can an ambulance arrive there. Can your wife and teenaged kids travel safely alone? Plus if you talk about really good college education, your kids can be with you while having world class education rather than you spending millions of ruppees to send them abroad where they might eventually want to stay :). so loads of things!!

1) Most Canada company needs Canadian experiences .

2) Initially You will not get a jobs for more then 1500-1800 $ per months (includes house rent , car , insurance etc)

3) Health is free but long queue

4) eduction is free but per school is expensive around $ 500

In my opinion, to live in the midst of people who respect each other. To live in a community where I am concerned about others difficulties. In otherword, my acivities should not hurt others physically or mentally. For that you should bury your selfishness. And more like my friends wrote as reply.

The lost grape is sour in taste.

Its individuals dicision

different circumstances for different people.

For us its about trying to give our Daughter a life in a country where values/law/morality still means something...........

Sorry but I have to say something here. All we heard growing up was that the US Canada and France have no morals and we would be crazy to raise especially girls there and they would soon be corrupt, now it seems Canada is safer for girls growing up? I am not objecting or affirming anything, I just want to know can someone really be sure of raising his baby girl right in the "western" world? I know this is out of subject but it is important as most of us have girls and are worried about teenage rebellion in Canada and if it exists. Myself I believe if you raise them to respect the parents authority and treat them with love they will not rebel. opinions anyone?

Dear Ihabkal,

I am European and I know my culture..I will be careful to answer your question without abusing this forum for religious or political reasons.
Growing up "western style" is as different as it gets compared to maybe growing up the Muslim or Hindu way. You are right, there are different values, in my eyes for freedom, more self responsibilities. As to teenage rebellion, it exists anywhere. I am currently lecturing at a large university in New Zealand, 50% of students are Indian and I tell you, they enjoy their freedom..!

If you go to Canada, then why not live the Canadian way? Your kids certainly will whether you like it or not. Their friends and companions will do the same. They will still love you as a dad, because you let them be what they are, they still love you because you love them.

Again, this is my opinion only and should be taken as that. No politcal or religious agenda behind.

i agree with you ihabkal. 16 year old sister of one of my closest friend used to runaway from her home in london, uk. her demands were not to ask her where she spent the day and give her loads of money. they forceably took her to pakistan and got her engaged. i have seen families returning to pakistan when their girls reach the age of 16,17.

this is so true that east and west cultures do not get along. a cultural clash is always possible in europe/ us/canada.

i would say these are the demerits if you are considering yourself moving to europ or us / canada.

hi

no harm in your question. it was a good question whether to immigrate to another country when u r well off in ur county.

I would say if u r well off and got car ,house and family business and enough money to drive car everyday ,live in AC everyday got a good cirlce of friends, can afford high quality education in your own country , then ple dont immigrate..its a struggle by itself..

but even if u dont have any one of the above immigration is a good option

personally even though i like india , i know my childhood and my struggles....iam from a lower middle class family and i dont want my children also to get raised the same way..today in canada i feel very happy for me and my kid...And I dont want my children to struggle like me...in canada their oppurtunites and standrad and more//

everyone will feel good that they immmigrated to canada inthe long term...dont think short term//

think after 15 years what will be ur position in canada...and still if have enough money no harm in goin back to ur own country...

so his is my my viewpoint......
