e-mil from local visa office.

I sent an e-mail to local visa office to ask about my status. They replied:
Dear Mr. XXXX,

Please be advised that we received your application on xxxxx
Please rest assured that we will contact you for the next stage of the processing of your file.

Is it automatic reply, or has some positive meaning that I have passed the initial screening.

this is not an automatic reply.

The automatic reply comes in the form of mail receipt.

yours seems to be a considerate reply where someone typed your details.

I dont think the reply means anything apart from the fact that it is not rejected yet. they could be into some background verification stage or any such thing.
