Dear Qorax,

what does asking for a second medical means,
my ecas had been showing application received(We received your application for permanent residence on May 19, 2011+Medical results have been received.) but has just changed to In process (We started processing your application on October 21, 2013.) and it has been more than 29 months, is it normal for ecas status to show In process so late and what is chance that my case would take longer than 31 months processing time stated for Islamabad.

Thank you in advance

Usually E-cas shows "In process" right before "Decision Made", but nobody can tell you if you will take longer than the average processing time for your VO.

(Please ask all your questions in one post, it would be easier answering them)

It means all the applicants will have to do a new medical exam, because the first one is no longer valid. The validity of the medical exam is 12 months.

Dear Betina,
thank you for the reply,
In my case it was showing Application received for the past 25 months, and has just changed to In process. Does the processing time according to each visa office (Pakistan=31 months) takes into account the time from which the application is received or from the time In process is shown.

Kind regards.

As I've already answered in on of your other threads, the processing time counts from the moment the Visa Office gets the file. That's a few weeks after Sponsorship Approval.

So it's not counted neither from when the application is received, nor from when E-cas says "In process".

Hi shaheer, Betina is correct inasmuch as the processing time of 31 months starts from when the file is rec'd at the visa office (VO) overseas. For many VOs once your file does go to "in process" things generally start happening more quickly from that point forward. Also it usually means that you do not require an interview either. But I am not familiar with your VO so if you read more on that specific thread you will probably get a better idea of timelines after "in process" from others. The link is:

Blessings.

Hello shaheer7, you are most welcome and thank you for the congratulations. :) It is a very happy day indeed when this process is over especially for the people waiting so long such as yourself.

To the best of my knowledge, the only way to check that the interview is waived 100% is to order your GCMS notes and it will be written in there. However, I have been told by others on the forum that once your file goes to "in process" that usually means that there was no need for an interview and that is why your file has been able to move forward to the processing stage. Again, I am not familiar with your VO but this is how it has worked at Port of Spain where my husband's file was processed.

That is why in my previous post I suggested you check the thread/link of the Islamabad/Pakistan members. Most threads have a spreadsheet that one of the members updates and you can compare and track progress of files over time. This is another way of being able to see trends or patterns at different VOs. Immigration is always very case-specific though and as we all know, unpredictable so these are my opinions only. Blessings.

Hello CdnandTrini,

I know it is indeed a special day for you and it has been a long time for me, and that message of you truly encourages me. little questions, what is GCMS and since I have hired a representative, could I ask for my GCMS myself or my representative can only ask for it.

Best regards,

You can't accelerate the process in any way. The only solution is to have your passport sent by courier rather than going yourself to Islamabad.

Shaheer, you need to be posting your questions in the Islamabad thread where the people with more experience from that VO can help. This is one little thread and other than a few of the general answers we have provided I do not think we are the ones best equipped to guide you. Try that thread first o.k.? Blessings my friend.
