E-Cas status not available?!

Hi, i think that is something wrong with my application and don't know what to do now.

I sent my application on July 2010 and receive AOR by email on late Dec 2010, since then E-cas showed nothing but "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided."

I'm from Hong Kong and i requested along the application and still waiting for Buffalo to send me a letter in order to process my police certificate.

Is this normal? should i enquiry them as well as update T4?

E-cas has not been reliable since CIC began switching over to a new computer system. If the system can't identify you with your B-file number, if you have a work permit, you can try using your client ID number instead of the B-file, but it probably won't have any more information.

If it has been more than 11 months since you applied, you can send a case-specific inquiry to CIC-Buffalo.

when is the start point to count 11 months? from the day i sent the application or the day i got the FN?

Is it okay to sent a case-specific inquiry to obtain letter from CIC to apply hong Kong Police certificate even it is not 11 months yet?

Neither. It is from the date that your application was received by CIC (it's indicated in your AOR).

You can try. That is for a specific purpose, rather than a general request for an update.
