There is nothing reliable about ECAS, especially with the changeover to GCMS. It's been said over and over and over again on this forum yet people still look at it like holy scripture!

To anyone that sees a mistake and/or misspelling on their information, send a FAX or registered letter to the visa office processing the file with the correct information. DO NOT rely on email or making a change in ECAS to correct your information.

the emails for specific cases inquiry are NOT sent to mississauga or any other office BUT to the canadian embassy dealing with your case, therefore not all embassies work the same way (as far as i have understood) and when you call them they only say "please email us" the last thing i did i went there and asked them to change it, i filled up a form with the correct info. It's frustrating specially when one lives in a country where mail service isnt that organized as it is in other countries and you have to depend on emails which u never know if you'll be get one or not, thank god they did email me to let me know about my interview otherwise i would've been sitting here waiting forever and not knowing my interview date has passed.

I have a similar problem. There is a spelling error of the street name. I've notified them about it but they don't bother changing it. The address is the same though, and I've received mail (sponsorship letter) which is addressed correctly. It's just spelled wrong on the website.

My husband - the sponsor - his address was also wrong but they did not change it. It never mattered.

I had a similar problem, but not with the address. My husbands name was wrong (they had his whole name with his mom's name first). First i called cic-miss to make sure that i didn't make this mistake in the actual application and then i emailed tel aviv and after 3 days they changed it back to the proper way. So i guess it all depends on the VO ur dealing with and how fast they update ecase.

Many embassies don't bother to update e-cas; it is irrelevant for them. E-cas still shows an address for my wife that we left February 2010!!

I tried to change the address on e-cas myself, and when that didn't work I called CIC. They told me that since I was outside Canada, only the embassy could make the change.

I then emailed the embassy with my new address, mailed some new peel-off address labels, and it was done. At my request, the embassy confirmed by email receipt of the new address, and from then on their mail arrived at the new adress -- despite the old address still showing on e-cas.

The point is to make sure the embassy confirms receipt of the new address and you'll be OK. Make sure to send new address labels.

I have the same problem!

I'm the sponsor and my husband is the applicant. We both live overseas (same address). My address shown on eCAS is wrong and I have not received my sponsorship approval letter from Mississauga for 2 months now. However, the local VO got my husband's address correct since he received letters from them already.

Actually I have emailed the local VO but no replies from them. I cannot change the address online because they only allow input of a Canadian address.

So, should I be going after Mississauga to fix my address (since they are the ones who issues the sponsorship approval letter) or continue to chase my local VO? Thanks!

Can anyone please give me some advice? Thanks very much!!

CIC had my husband's address written incorrectly as well, he lives in canada, he went to the local immigration office to find out about other stuff when they checked our files they realized they got his address incorrectly so they had him filled out a form to correct the adddress.
