E-cas: Medicals received but no SA yet

Hi,

My hubby is sponsoring me through spouse outland process. I am the Applicant and my ecas was updated to medicals received almost a week ago. But we have not got Sponsorship approval yet.
On calling CIC, the agent says your file is under process......
But after looking in some spreadsheets, i realized that usually, the ecas shows medical update after you get SA.

How true is that??

From what I've been reading it seems that CIC is not always notifying people that they have been approved to sponsor. Probably if they have gone to the step of viewing the medicals I would imagine that they have approved the sponsor and unfortunately haven't notified you.

no, this isn't necessarily true. if the APPLICANT can check the status, it is because they probably had some dealings with cic in the past. all this means is they input the information into the system, and it is generally put into the system with "medical received" if the medical was sent upfront. consider it the standar formatting for entering the app details into the system.

for the original poster, When was your application received? remember it's taking about 2 months for them to issue sponsor eligibility. when you are signed into ECAS, is there a section for the sponsor's app? if so, what does it say? if it says DECISON MADE on the sponsor's side, THEN that means you have yet to be notified. if there is nothing, then assume they are still working on the sponsor's app.

If the call agent didn't say whether the sponsor has been approved, then there probably isn't a decision yet. you can always call back and see if you get a different answer. at this point, there's nothing to do. be happy you are able to see your app in the system... at least that means they have it, are working on it, and have started entering it into the system.

Actually, my husband who is the sponsor is not able to login ecas. When he called CIC, the agent said he could not find any application linked to his Client ID.
Only i am able to login ecas, Strange but true..so i can find only my name in ecas.
Also, the agent always tells me about my part of the file. I am june 10 applicant.
dont know what to do in this situation.

If you haven't received SA yet how do you have a uci # . Is this from an old application ?

there isn't anything to do. your sa will come soon enough. generally, when a person has not had any dealings with CIC before the PR app, the information about the pr application does not get entered into the system until AFTER SA. there are many situations where a person has to wait weeks to be able to sign in. the fact the call center person can't find his app doesn't mean anything. it just means it hasn't been entered into the system yet, and that is why he can't sign in. the fact you can sign in and see what's going on with your app suggests you have had experience with cic before, and since it says medical received usually means they have your app. think of it this way, how can thy receive your medicals if they didn't have your app?

at this point there is nothing to do except wait and try not to worry about it.

i have a ucı too ı sponsor my husband...maybe thıs ucı ıs ın her cıtızenshıp certıfıcate...thats how ı have ucı and only from there ı can see what happens.today ı took my SA.....and ın the ucı writes about the case my ucı-they dıdnt gıve ucı for my husband....ısnt thıs strange?

no, because your husband has never been in the system before, so it will take some time for his information to get into the system. there are people reporting it taking weeks after getting SA before they can see information in ecas.

no, your husband most likely will not get his uci number until his ppr or if he receives an additional document request from the visa office. CIC will not just mail him this info. if he wants to check his status on ecas, he will need to use the file number found on the sponsor eligibility letter with his information. both the sponsor and applicant share the same file number. OR if that doesn't work, he can sign onto ecas under your uci info, and see his status there. when you sign in under the sponsor, the applicant and sponsor's ecas' are connected, and the sponsor will be able to see the applicant's info. the opposite isn't necessarily true, so when he eventually does get his uci, and he signs into ecas with HIS info, he most likely will only see info on his application.
