What does following status for BG mean-"Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check."

It means your background check hasn't been started yet.

I think it really varies, as with all applications. I got the RPRF request on May 18 and paid the same day. Still waiting for an update. My background check remains to be at IP1 (We are procesing your background check...).

My BG is NA since May 4th, I haven't paid RPRF upfront. Do you get an email or message in MYCIC to pay it?

I'm CEC-Inland and some say that it's just a few days after IP2, you get the PPR email.

I know the feeling, worse when it's people who applied after you did. Makes you want to call up CIC and ask them to replace the Agent working on your file.
