Oops just saw someone posted about this earlier , do we know how long it takes for them to respond ?
 
Hello I just logged in to my account and the main page was showing "updated" next to my permanent residency application.
When I clicked the "check status" button everything looked the same as before... I may have had a short moment of "N/A" in background check and then quickly went back to "we are processing your background check.." again? I hope I am now at IP2. I will keep you updated.

hey layla.. congratulations I guess your file is approved, because same thing happened in my case, main page was "updated", when i checked "check status" button everything looked the same as before, curiousness was high so I called CIC very next day and I gotta to know that my file has been approved the day before. and later on I received golden email after a week...

i highly doubt that they are gender biased for interviews,chances are ur consultant doesnt know what she is saying.nyways hang tight ull be fyn.as far as u havent misrepresented urself.i ve seen cases where they have scheduled but cancelled saying its wasnt necessary and if they actually go through with interview dat ll be ur last stage.may be ull walk out of abu dhabi with ppr.best of luck!!

Finally after 100+ days passed medical...the status on my BGC was "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your backgnd check" till yesterday afternoon. Today when I logged in the status shows as "NA". Does this mean I'm done with IP1 and the IP2 will start anytime soon or my IP1 is still not done??? Thank you very much...crossing my fingers
 
I called CIC on +1 613 944-4000 from outside Canada to enquirer about my application. Pressed 1 for English and then 2 thereafter the call got transferred to one of their agents. I did not even wait for 20 seconds. So far so good.

But the agent of the phone politely declined my request and said I got the wrong number.

Is there an alternative number I can try calling ?

This is based on my own experience and a conversation I had with a senior Service Ontario staff.

I also have read many threads on this forum proving this.

Though such is the case, none of above information is from an immigration officer. I cannot say that is 100% true.

IP1 is done. It lasts for oly 1-2 days after medicals passed. NA>IP2 can take 4-6 weeks.

They verify a lot of things during NA and IP2 stage. Eligibility , security and criminality.

IP1 just covers R10(completeness check). This is what I have learned from this forum. But the way CIC processes applications is still a mystery.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
